Didn't see this mentioned, but Schilling's bio was been removed and then added back on the 38 Studios site. www.joystiq.com/2012/05/17/38-studios-doesnt-make-payroll/My town had a selectman seat up for election this year - Schilling wrote letters to the editor for a candidate who had never attended a town meeting or served on a town board (they ended up losing), and he himself doesn't bother to vote or attend town meeting.

Dan, have you heard Dennis and Callahan defending him to preserve their relationship? Hilarious.

Is there any reason anyone outside of Massachusetts should care about this?

Is there any reason anyone outside of Massachusetts should care about this? Well, contrary to popular opinion, Rhode Island is technically not a county in Massachusetts. The reason this should be of national interest is because the "economic development experts" in the RI government incentivized 38 Studios to the tune of $75 million to relocate their office building across the border into Providence a few years ago. This was considered a huge coup for America's most economically moribund state (Kingdoms of Amalur's release a couple months ago led the local news broadcasts, which I found hilarious). Normal people from coast to coast ought to be asking why these "beggar thy neighbor" programs should receive any public support. When you consider how much state legislatures rely on big business to be a source of revenue, why pay business to come/stay (unless there are substantial externalities, benefits to suppliers or infrastructure). How do the politicians pick and choose which companies will be subsidized and which will have to pick up the subsidee's displaced tax burden? Maryland and Virginia are among the worst offenders at trying to lure corporate headquarters in particular to one side of the Potomac or the other, but I'm sure just about every state is actively engaging in these shenanigans to some degree or another.

I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Rhode Island.

Is there any reason anyone outside of Massachusetts should care about this? See two posts above and... So? Still seems like a local story to me. Every city and state has public figures who support politicians on both sides of the aisle, and many of those public figures screw up, cost taxpayers money and are hypocritical. Just seems like more of a Boston story to me.

Other than the fact that she's running to be one of the 100 senators to pass legislation for the entire country, you got me. I'll admit it, I wish the Royals had a starting pitcher who became famous due to a little owie on his ankle, won a world series, and then started a company that lost millions of dollars.

I was referring to serious candidates, not those in the Craig James category.

Give it up, Dan. KC was the captain of his Forensics Team at Dork Prep School.
KC - you win. You're the best, man.

The point is that Schill envisions himself as someone as important as the 100. Besides, what fun is life if you cannot poke the bear?
