This is the first year that the games will be at the Armory after a long tenure at MSG. A few past and future Hoyas will be on the track this weekend.
In the women's metric mile (I guess that means 1500m) Maggie Infeld and Liz Maloy will be taking on a tough national class with Jenny Simpson, the winner of the World Championship 1500m in the field. In the Wannamaker Mile Liam Boylan-Pett will be in the field. And Sammantha Nadel, an elite recruit for next year, will run the girls mile. Sam is the favorite in this race.

On the other coast three present Hoyas are entered in the Husky Classic at the University of Washington track. Emily Jones and Claire Richardson (grad student running unattached) will run in the invitational 5000m and Andrew Springer will contest the invitational 3000m. Emily and Andrew are hoping to get NCAA qualifiers in their events.

What Nadel's coach is doing reminds me of what is going on with Portland's men's cross country team. Base building and longer more deliberate runs.

Very interesting, sleepy. No formal interval training?! I hope she can maintain this great racing, when she comes to Georgetown.

Maggie finished 4th in the 1500m in 4:10.12, which must be a PR, at least indoors. Maggie has been running very well this winter. Liz finished 9th in 4:15.4. Good speed workout for her 5000m.

Our women's recruit, Sammantha Nadel, ran away with the HS girls mile at the Millrose Games, setting a record in the process of 4:46.19.

Meanwhile down south Andrew Bumbalough finished 2nd in the invitational 2-mile at the University of Arkansas to American record setting Galen Rupp. It is ironic that Rupp broke Bernard Lagat's indoor American 2-mile record on the same day that Bernard broke Galen's 5000m American indoor record. These took place almost exactly at the same time but one in Arkansas, one in NY.
