I'm hoping for more of an inside presence in the Vesper.

Agree with sleepy. We need to stay out of the 2-3. Pitt is too good against it. Lots of movement, lots of cutting. I bet we don't play it the rest of the game. If so, we may win this.

I am fairly convinced that there are just a bunch of posters (both here and at Casual Hoya) who simply log on during games to do two things:
1. Yell at Nate Lubick. (really?? like that kick was at all his fault??) 2. Scream that the sky is falling/ship be sinking/whatever else.
It's just like the chat room. Just have to learn to ignore a bit better.

I think Henry is trying but he is getting outmuscled and he is not able to play his game (which also makes him a less effective passer and that throws everything off). We need to look elsewhere today I think, at least to start the half and then maybe Henry will free up.

Nice run to close out the half. 11 points we can come back from. They can comeback--But you have to JUST PLAY and quit being tied to an offense that isn't effective and it's limiting possessions. IF you are the better team, then run up and down and get more shots up. This offense has sucked far too often for this to be called an "off" night and part of the reason is they are getting nothing from Markel Starks at the PG position and Jason Clark isn't a true point--doing a nice job and today--like Jabril as PG--at least he's got them shot attempts and he's willing to compete and not back down against Pitt. Hollis might be banged up-but either get after it--or sit. The wimpy fading from basket/contact isn't going to get it done. Worst half Henry's played all year. He was horrendous. It would be helpful if we actually ran the offense. Timidly passing it around the perimeter and forcing guarded backdoor passes is not the offense. There is no ball movement, no movement off the ball, everyone's scared to make a mistake/shoot and it just leads to bad turnovers and worse shots. Does anyone WANT the ball? Doesn't look like it to me. If we would just get some ball movement and hit our foul shots/layups we would understand WHY Pitt's defense is so bad. But no, lets just passively pass the ball around the perimeter then force a bad shot down low.

We play like the last 4 minutes of the half, we win. Pitt started to sag as we cut into the big lead, we make it clsoe, it is ours

This Hoya team is not a great shooting team--they play better with faster pace and getting offensive rebounds. Like press-but you can't press when you are never making a shot. It's time for Starks to step up or be move aside for Porter or Trawick.

Henry starts every possession down low then comes to the high post if nothing is open and then cutters go low. Porter, Whittington, and Hollis can post up but haven't been able to finish.

Not sure if it's Lubick's fault but his man is always free cutting to the basket...

I'm getting a bit fed up with waiting for the "shots to fall." When will it start? We needed a surge in the last four minutes to get to 33%. You might be able to get away with horrible shooting against Providence or Rutgers, but your luck is bound to run out eventually. Did we really spend a week practicing? Didn't look like it. Gotta make some shots.

Someone is getting lost on defense. We absolutely need to get some stops on defense. I dunno what coaches said in the locker room but we look much better this half already.

Sims and Clark being aggressive on offense.
From Hoyatalk straight to their ears...

Looking much better to start the second half! Nate is always looking to help D so that is why his man gets by him sometimes, especially with the backdoor.
