Shams Charania @shamscharania Undrafted rookie Jerrelle Benimon has agreed on a partially guaranteed two-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, league sources tell RealGM. 5:08 PM - 14 Aug 2014 Congrats to Jerrelle. Happy for him. +1. Best of luck!

Good for him. And, while it did not work out for the Hoyas, I think a lot of posters owe JT III an apology for stating that the program somehow "wasted" a scholarship on a guy who now seems to have made a roster in the NBA. That was NOT a case of poor talent evaluation by the staff.

Happy for him. Agreed. Didn't work out for him as a Hoya, he made a smart decision to develop elsewhere and is getting his chance.

It's not a done deal yet. Looks like Virginia Tech's Erick Green and Bennimon will have to fight for the last roster spot before the season starts. One of them will be cut. "During the season, teams are only allowed to carry 15 players, but during the off-season they can have up to 20 guys. With Erick Green signing a similar deal to Benimon, it sets up an interesting training camp as the team will have to make a move before the season starts to get down to 15 players." www.denverstiffs.com/2014/8/14/6003985/charania-denver-nuggets-to-sign-jerrelle-benimon-to-two-year-deal

i do not know if it is true but rumor was paul george was messing with hibbert soon to be wife.it is weird to see how he was playing ,and how he looked so down most of the time.sports illustrated had a article about those rumors to.i think something was going on inside that team. roy will have his best year if he gets traded out of that mess of a team.i think he needs a change, and i know he will bounce back big time. i think a team needs to run the offence inside out that he goes to thru him.he is a smart passer.and unselfish. he will bounce back if he gets traded. go big roy. A very nasty rumor that has zero basis in fact as far as I know. The guys are great friends and were laughing about the whole thing during one of their fishing getaways. Doesn't take much (Twitter) to turn a complete falsehood into a "hot" rumor. There does seem to be something to it though, whatever the problem is. Pacers have been actively looking to move Hibbert all summer. Even after Lance Stevenson left. And even with Paul George now on the shelf. You would think they would want to hold on to their biggest asset in Hibbert, with him being the only one of the big three that will play this year. Yet the Pacers are still trying to move Hibbert. That speaks volumes that Hibbert cannot coexist on the Pacers and wants out. The Pacers lockerroom was a mess last year and they've come to the point where they have to break up the team and start over.

With George out, it makes sense to trade Hibbert regardless of the locker room situation. Even if Hibbert averages 20 and 10 next year, Indiana is not going to be vying for the championship, so why not trade him and use next year to regroup/rebuild for George's return.

I would disagree with that. George will be gone for one or two years and there's a good probability that he will never be the same player. the only real asset they have is Hibbert, who is still only 27 so the logical move would be to build the team around him. They will not receive anyone of Hibberts calibur in a trade so it's likely that Hibbert has to be moved because he can't coexist in Indiana

Even if he averages 15 and 10 over a season (something he's never done in either category before), that team will not go far, even if you count his defense. Building around a player like that will at best put you in the 10th to 20th best team range in the league. I doubt you'd get fair value for Roy in trade, but the idea is to get something (expiring contracts/non-lotto draft picks), then use the next year or two getting lottery picks and clearing cap space so you can compete in the medium term.

As a lifelong pacer fan (and hoya fan), they need to blow it up with the George injury. Roy and West are the inside core. Both are in player options in 15/16. By the time PG gets back and back to normal (two years easy), West will be old by NBA standards and they would need to re-up with Roy. The timing of that injury couldn't have been worse. If it happens earlier in free agency, they keep stephenson and hold the fort. I would cut bait on Scola, trade west to a contender and trade Roy for picks. Rebuild around PG for '16 and re-create the Offense which was horrible this past year.

www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wizards-insider/wp/2014/08/20/wizards-otto-porter-and-glen-rice-jr-will-compete-for-playing-time-after-shining-in-summer-league-together/Wizards’ Otto Porter and Glen Rice Jr. will compete for playing time after shining in summer league together For one month earlier this summer, Wizards forwards Otto Porter Jr. and Glen Rice Jr. spent a couple of hours a day working on the Verizon Center practice floor. They hustled through ball-handling, shooting and defensive drills with oversight from former Wizards assistant coach Ryan Saunders and David Adkins, hired later in the summer to serve as the Wizards’ player development assistant. It was the beginning of a crucial offseason for Porter and Rice. Both registered limited playing time during their rookie campaigns, unable to crack the Wizards’ rotation as the team soared to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since the 2004-05 season. They will compete against each other to become the primary three-man off the bench this season, but they first envisioned forming a potent tag team in the Las Vegas summer league.

But it's all water under the bridge. Congrats.

I'm not a recruiting expert like some on this board, but I think it would be a huge help, for a JTIII guard to actually make the NBA. Good luck Austin!!

If only there were more of those Wilson, I'd sign on for that as well. That screencap is my desktop wallpaper at work.
