Speaking of the NBA and Hoyas, I was very surprised to learn the Greg is out of the league completely..playing in Europe at the age of 29. He got a max contract like 4 years ago? Amazing to me. I know the league has changed and bigs who aren't fast and/or don't shoot the three aren't much in demand. But still...this guy is too talented to be in Europe. IF this has been discussed previously...my apologies. He got terrible advice from David Falk only signing a three year max deal instead of a five year max. I get why they did it as they hoped to cash in when the contracts values jumped with the new TV money. Unfortunately the league completely changed. Also Monroe is culpable as well. He showed some perimeter shooting as a Hoya but never developed his jumper in the NBA. I also think he had the opportunity to be a bench player on an NBA team this year, but chose to go to Europe so he could actually play and the pay was probably equivocal.

I cannot help but believe that if Derrickson has stayed one more year, he would be playing in the NBA right now.

Reading the blurb, I initially thought that the Bulls released Otto, but going on, they released information about his injury. Frustrating for all of us, especially for Otto and the Bulls.

I believe you are correct about that. Unless there was a year when Sleepy was the only one. Craig and Ba Ba only lasted 2-3 year each. Numbers didn't start to build until Patrick, Wingate and Reggie joined in successive years. along with guys like Anthony Jones & Billy Martin. Michael Jackson.

Do the Lakers have a role for Jeff ? This would not surprise me. Jeff and LeBron got along well. He’d fit alongside AD and Lebron. Kind of similar to what Kuzma provides, though obviously they are hoping Kuzma becomes their 3rd star. But Jeff would be a better backup than Dudley, who has to play whenever LeBron or AD or Kuzma are hurt, which has happened a decent amount.

This thread may need to temporarily be “NBA Hoya” singular.

It’s tough to field a consistent top-20 team when there’s no NBA talent going through your program. Our Final Four teams have had multiple NBA players on the roster. I hope to see Yurtseven, McClung and Pickett get looks when the time comes.

Really hope he gets picked up.
Wish he had been more aggressive at this level, his talent is off the charts.

I was very disappointed when the Lakers signed Dudley rather than Jeff. I think at this point the Lakers like Dudley for the intangibles he provides, so while I would like to see them make a move for Jeff, I don't think they will. As a sidebar, Dudley before making his first two point shot of the season a few nights ago, Dudley was the only player in the league who had three point baskets but no two point baskets.

Two key data points for a successful program are NBA players and NCAA Sweet Sixteens. Clearly, we have fallen over the last decade.

We have not played in the second weekend of the NCAA tournament since 2007. That will be 13 years of no Sweet 16s in March! Forgetting for a moment that we have not even made the tournament in several years.
