They are reportedly very good friends. Both lived in Miami (Wade now lives in L.A.) and played together in Cleveland. If you have a high level of cashe/clout like D Wade, and you see your friend being mistreated without any rhyme or reason, the real question becomes what kind of friend are you for not saying something? I'm reading it in context. He is not saying why wouldn't some one offer Green an extended contract? He is saying that he doesn't understand why Green keeps signing the one year contracts. Just does not come across as a friend defending his friend. Sounds, to me, as someone putting someone on full blast for his choices and willingness to acquiesce. I could be wrong, but that's how I read it. The “facts” is commentary by Darrel Owens and the yellow text is commentary by Jeff Green.

I could be wrong, but that's how I read it. I didn’t read it that way at all. To me...he’s firmly supporting Jeff and highlighting his value to any team. D Wade tweet was questioning why JG best offers the last three years are one year at the vet minimum when he's skilled, versatile, defend every position, can shoot the 3, athletic, rarely misses games and not old. Look at Trevor Ariza. Trevor Ariza just signed a two year $25 million dollar deal coming off a one year $15 million dollar deal while being two years older then Green. Allow me to do my best Hoyasaxa2003. Ariza is shooting between 37-40% from the field in the last three plus seasons. JG shot 48% the last two seasons with an effective 55% FG rate this season. Ariza's usage rate was much higher then JG's while averaging about the same PPG with the Wizards. All the stats show that Jeff Green is a better more effective and versatile player then Ariza at this stage of their careers yet Jeff Green is only being offered minimum contracts the last three seasons for a total of $7.5 million while Ariza will have made $53 million.

Is it possible teams are holding Green's past heart issue against him? I don't think that's likely, but who knows. I assume he has to pass a physical to sign each and every contract.

If you are underpaid in life, it’s your own fault. You need to do something about it. Why isn’t his agent getting him better than the league minimum?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. This could be an unstated factor. As for my other comments, speaking negatively about Wade's comments, I guess I did not have the full context, after all. My bad.

I also wondered if Green's previous heart condition was an issue but he signed his most lucrative deal so far (4 years $36 million) post his surgery. Yes he does have to a full medical checkup done before his contract is ratified. I also read that He see's his cardiologist twice a year. Green will have passed eight physicals since his surgery....

If you are underpaid in life, it’s your own fault. You need to do something about it. Why isn’t his agent getting him better than the league minimum? Green has changed his representation multiple times including leaving the legendary David Falk in the last three seasons. The names of veteran players making more then Green blew my mind. Chandler Parsons has signed two contracts bigger then Green has ever had, a three year $46 million dollar deal with the Maverick in the summer of 2014 and then a four year $88 million dollar deal with Memphis in 2016 despite dealing with multiple knee injuries and not playing more then 66 games in any season since the 2014 season. In that same span JG's minimum games played wss 69 during the 2016-2017 season in Orlando when he missed time with a lower back injury and the organization desire to tank at the conclusion of that season. More perspective, Green has missed a total of 29 games since his return from heart surgery in 2012. An average of four games per season. Parsons has missed a total of 202 games in that same span and has signed two multi year eight figure deals in between. Yet Jeff Green can't get an eight figure multi year offer over the last three years?? Almost feels as if there is some kind of collusion. I don't believe that to be the case. Check that, I don't have any proof that that's the case, but JG situation is very strange.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum-salary deal. The contract doesn't come with any compensation protection, but can include an optional bonus ranging from $5,000 to $50,000. It includes an Exhibit 10 attachment, which can be converted to a regular-season contract or a two-way deal.
