Wait, I thought your bar was set at 6'1". Did you know that last night's Mavericks game for 5'10" Barea was his 600?!!! Not bad for the 31 year-old... He's actually 6'0", but don't let facts get in the way of using the one exception to prove a rule. I've stood next to him various times. He's 5'10" and not an inch more. Only fact you need, unless you would rather believe his different heights in different internet services.

They finally started their best line up of Conley, Allen, Barnes, JG & Gasol. Really quick, long and athletic 5. The Black Hole aka Zbo is out with an injury. If I was Memphis, I would be trying trade Randolph or bring him off the bench. You can't play Zbo and Gasol on the court at the same time and matchup with the rest of the league.

Jeff Green also had the #1 play on the NBA top ten last night.

Congratulations to Dikembe. A champion on the court and in life. Proud to say he is a Hoya.

Great player. Great man. The team JT Jr. put around Mutombo and Mourning in 1990-91 was one of the great travesties/missed opportunities in Hoya hoops history. TWO Hall of Fame players and they ended up .500 in Big East play and an 8 seed in the tournament. I know Zo had some injury problems that season, but he was back by late January. That's just wow.

So are we debating Barrea's height or whether the NBA is going to smaller PGs as part of the "small ball" trend. That is our dispute. I don't believe going "small ball" means going to shorter PGs. I think it means going smaller at the 4 and 5, utilizing stretch players to spread the floor and create more space. I haven't noticed a sudden uptick in sub 6' PGs coinciding with the "small ball" trend in the NBA. Curry and Thompson are relatively tall for their positions at Golden State, using the poster child team as an example. Not proving either point, but I read an interesting article on-line yesterday showing that from 1990-2013 100% of NBA All-Star PGs were between 6'0'-6'4". There does seem to be a lower-bound limit on PGs excelling in the NBA.

There's never been an official measurements for AI but do people really believe he's 6ft tall?

Time waits for no one. Dikembe was just 23 in that photo. And John Thompson was younger in that photo than his son is today.

Coincidence that JG has had his 2 best offensive efficient games back to back while the black hole (not a race reference) that Zach Randolph is not in the lineup clogging up the key and Memphis won both somewhat easily.

Greg Whittington in D League action!
I think ink it's only a matter of time before he is called up to the association! Long, skilled and versatile players like him is what the league is transitioning to.

Henry Sims in D League action vs. Greg Whittington
With some one of the Bigs in the NBA, it's hard to figure out why or how Sims isn't at least on the end of somebody's bench in the association. Looks like the league has told him to be more physical and active based on what I've seen from him in the NBDL!
