One had to be worried if Otto and Glen would have their legs going into their third game in three days with the previous game being a triple overtime thriller. Turns out they didn't appear to have any legs at all. They have been carrying the team for the past week and needed help tonight but once again got next to nothing from their teammates. Look at Sacramento's starting lineup. It was dreadful. But the Kings had four to five guys coming off the bench who lit it up. The Wiz have nothing like that. It has been a two-man team throughout this Vegas league and tonight it caught up with the Wiz.

They cut it to 7 at one point then rested Rice on the bench and that was all she wrote as Thies blew a couple dunks and Kim English just ran in the lane and turned the ball over.

Did you watch any Wizards summer league games? Besides Glen Rice Jr and OP, there wasn't one other player on the team that honestly looked like someone the Wizards absolutely had to invite to training camp, let alone make the roster. It was essentially 2 vs 5 the entire tournament and the team's performance as a whole was a testament to how well GR and OP played, hence them both being named first team all SL. But from an overall talent standpoint, the Kings were better and they should've won.

Deacon..you are absolutely correct. The Kings had 4 guys who played at least 40 NBA games last year and first rd pick Nick Stauskus. Otto and GRJr are the only guys on that Wiz team that will ever be paid to play ball in this country!

My friend, you must have misread my post. The Kings from top to bottom had a far superior summer league team.

Wish the Wiz could stash him in the D League. He did display Hopkins disease by either missing in close or getting stuffed at the rim, though. Triggered some bad memories...

Early on, he looked like someone who could be an intriguing camp invite, mainly because he was doing a great job of defending the paint and rebounding. However, he also caused a ton of turnovers with moving screens and couldn't finish at the rim. He definitely showed glimpses though.

I think Birch may be kept on. He played well; opps limited by Shoot-no-matter-what Rice, Jr. If not, he'll get a callup this year.

DanMcQ...love that article about the Hoyas in Summer League. No idea why Chris and Austin still can't find a reserve spot somewhere in the NBA. Markel is just starting out in his quest. Guess in a lot of cases it has to be the right time and right place.

Chris is better than a lot of backup guards, honestly. The way he drives and dishes is a thing of beauty

Roy has already worked out with Bill Walton and Tim Duncan. It is time for him to actually learn something in regards to putting the ball in the basket. I appreciate that Jabbar appears to be downright jolly getting to work with Roy, it has been widely reported how a couple of elite big men in the last few years who suited up for the Lakers never took advantage of hi willing instruction. Roy will be an attentive student. But Roy's problem lies more in his head than anything else. Until he overcomes those insecurities, until he learns how to be truly aggressive and stops taking a backseat as far as scoring is concerned, he will be vulnerable to droughts that last weeks if not months long. If anything I hope Jabbar instructs Roy on how to use the glass. Although if Roy can't pick that up after two summers of workouts with Duncan there may be no hope for him on that front.

He's had some bad luck with the wrist injury his senior year, being advised not to go to Portsmouth, and the MS but at least in his 4 years he was here he had at they very least Jeremy Lin ability. So it could be a case of he just needs a shot to show what he can do like Lin did with Linsanity.

I know I am Hoya biased. But Chris looks to me a lot like Jameer Nelson, in terms of height, weight, build and most important....game. Nelson has started much of the past ten years, while Chris has gotten into three games. Perhaps Nelson is better,,but that much better?
