All I'm saying is "to play that game" you have to be honest. Roy had a great first half but a not-so-great second half when he scored no points and got maybe 3 rebounds. . You must not follow the Pacers. They don't pass inside much. They like to take jumpshots. Even when their shots are not falling they still rather take those jumpers than dish. Their own TV commentators complain about their wings and guards not giving Roy the ball so that says it all. Its O'Brien's system for better or worse. But even Pacer fans are grasping that the Pacers are most effective on offense when running the ball through Roy. But I just don't see that happening anytime soon. Sure Roy still has a lot to work on but the good news there is that he has always shown the willingness to keep improving. Nonetheless you can't fault him last night for not scoring at all in the second half. That's on his teammates who, when their shots finally drop, aren't looking to make the extra pass or any pass at all at times. Its a quick trigger team. Put Roy on even a worse team like the Nets but one that plays a totally different style (pound it inside) and I'm sure Roy would score around as much as B. Lopez is.

You hit the nail on the head - they run no plays for roy. They should initiate the offense through him on every trip. He's averaging a double-double in 26 minutes a game - that's not too shabby. Plus, Indy was up 12 at the half and 17 after the third quarter, so it's kind of misleading to say Roy didn't do much in the second half. Love this picture from last night's game with Larry Bird in the background: photos.indystar.com/photos/2009/11/6/331589/show.jpg

I'm sorry if you throw your self into the defender it should not be a foul. I hate that. But all refs call that. You lower your shoulder or leap into the defender it shouldn't be a foul. I couldn't agree more. I hate the no-charge circle for the same reason.

DaJuan scored his first NBA points tonight. 10 minutes: 2 pts, 1/2 fg, 2 reb, 1 assist, 3 fouls. He played 2 minutes in the 2nd quarter and then the last 8 minutes of the game with Detroit comfortably ahead.

Three fouls in ten minutes? Maybe he's learning something from Roy after all. ;D

DaJuan made his triumphant return to Verizon Center last night - well maybe not so triumphant going 0-2 with 2 fouls in four minutes. But he got to see some minutes again, and he was in front of some friends and family

Jeff had a nice game (21 pts, led team with 10 rebounds) in a nice win for the Thunder at San Antonio.

Jeff gets to be more and more fun to watch.
Nice to see that DS is getting a little time. I think it says a lot about how hard he must be working.

Hibbs had 11 points last night against the Celtics and held his own with KG and Perkins. The Cetics announcers (Tommy Heinsohn) asked Doc about him and Doc gave him some love.

sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/jeff_pearlman/11/13/retirement/index.html?eref=sihpWow. Pearlman definitely comes across as spiteful, almost as though Iverson kicked his dog. Nonetheless, he might have a point about AI's (potentially) difficult road ahead. What do you all think? If AI had attended Georgetown for all four years, do you think this article would be written today? Iverson has had a great career. I am just grateful that I will be able to watch Roy and Jeff, two guys with whom I took classes, live life in the NBA the right way. When their careers are done, I have no doubt that those two will land on their feet. Roy in politics...?

I recently sent Dan a picture of NH as a 12-year old with Tommy sitting in my living room, when Heinsohn was NBA rookied of the year. ;D

Roy had 19 & 10 plus 3 blocks and 2 assists in Pacers win over Nets. He was 9 of 11 from the field and 1 of 2 from the line.
Brook Lopez had 26 & 16 for the Nets, but was 10 of 27 fg. Also Lopez played 46 minutes to Roy's 32.
