Thought it would be worth noting its a big weekend for the Porter family. Not only is Otto playing in the NCAA tournament, but some of his cousins have taken SCC back to the state championship game which will be played later today. SCC is looking for their 4th straight title and 16th overall. www.standard-democrat.com/story/1826675.html

I would be more than glad to welcome any Porter to the program. Period. These kids know how to play basketball.
Also, the "Who needs Otto?" quote in that article, though probably not malicious in nature, was a bad look for the coach.

Knowing him, he's probably already given Otto some good natured grief about it. A lot of people doubted that team all year and really who could blame them after losing an All American and not returning anyone over 6ft. Next year may be even more difficult, though there should be a pretty decent freshman playing varsity whose father has said will be better than Otto. That freshman just happens to be Otto's little brother Jeffrey.

Our best player next year is getting some love from the scouts: As mentioned in the Nerlens thread (one of the less popular HT topics), Otto is projected to be a lottery pick in 2013 by nbadraft.net. He's also projected to be the 23rd pick in 2013 by Draft Express. They have a good (but a bit outdated) scouting report: www.draftexpress.com/profile/Otto-Porter-6528/My expectations for him next year are sky high. He reminds me a lot of Shawn Marion.

Yeah it’s bad, a lot of kids getting bad advice. I read recently over 100 underclassmen had declared already. They must not have got the memo there’s only 2 rounds. Otto is on his way but he has a lot to work on and he could start with his left hand. If someone can show me footage of Otto finishing with his left hand this year I’ll give them 2 cookies because I don’t think that tape exists...
