All's well, that ends well. Since we didn't lose the game or get anyone hurt, I'd say that ended well.

After watching the Video, it looks like the Hoyas got jumped. Those kids came off the Chinese bench and went straight for Jason. This could have been much worse. Thank goodness for that.

So it's not completely clear to me what happened to start it. Was JC trying to tackle a guy and missed, or did he get pushed from behind, or did he get tripped trying to get away and run back up the court? But man...check out the Bayi player pushing a Gtown player (can't tell who) to the floor at about the :20 mark and then just WAILING on the Georgetown player while he's lying on the ground. You can see several Bayi players pick up chairs and throw them. I lived in Beijing for a couple of years and have seen tempers flare, but this is ridiculous and uncalled for. On edit: #4 of Bayi can pretty clearly be seen wielding a chair.

I am speechless after watching that video. That is like Pacers-Pistons-level melee, probably worse. If that fight happened in the NBA you'd be looking at multiple season-long suspensions for the Chinese players.

Um, after seeing that video, there's really no doubt, is there? China is hard fouling left and right, China is off the bench first, the Chinese dude is completely wailing on someone after the play for no reason.
Am I missing something here through Hoya glasses?
The first Hoya player who gets the ball and passes away (Clark?) gets absolutely hacked (:04), pushed away/entangled (:06) then gets clearly attacked by a player at :07 away from the ball and tripped to the ground?
By the time he hits the ground, the Chinese bench is already there.
When Markel(?) is being wailed on as he's trying to get away, none of the Chinese players right there try to break it up.
At about the :30 mark, you see a Chinese player viciously swinging a chair and making contact.

IMHO, we should cancel the next game because it is against this same team.

I'm amazed no Hoyas are seriously injured given the multiple times it seems our guys were down on the floor with 3-4 or more antagonists around them with fists, kicks, and even chairs flying.
How would you feel in that situation? Surrounded by a frenzied mob, you wouldn't do everything you could to protect yourself? Yikes.
After seeing this, I wouldn't be surprised if the tour ends now. If you were one of the Hoyas, would you want to go back out there and put yourself at risk like this? These kids may justifiably fear for their safety. Who are they supposed to have confidence in the next time around? The security? Yeah, okay.
I hope that whatever decision is made there is 100% certainty that it results in complete Hoya safety.

The only thing you can put on Georgetown from that video is that Clark clearly takes exception to the hard foul (uncalled, of course) by the Chinese player. Then they're off camera for a second so you can't tell who did what. So, yeah, maybe he swung. But regardless he's on the ground pretty much immediately and entire Chinese bench is out on the floor to stomp on him. Bowen gets tackled while he's running away!

Give credit to JTIII for being EXTREMELY diplomatic.

good that there is a video. And even better its the whole thing from start to finish.
The two things I saw:
-It looks like Jason knows he is in trouble right when it starts. He tries to run down court, get tripped and then jumped.
-Markel, it appears, gets jumped by two guys while running away.
Regardless of how someone feels about the prior aggression in the game, the actual fighting appears to have been started clearly by Bayi

Still waiting for you to back off your earlier comments in light of the photos coming out of Clark being stomped. You can keep on waiting. Stance stays the same. Engaging in a fight with a foreign team on their own home court doesn't do anything for the team or program IMO. You can stand up for yourself and your teammates without resorting to exchanging punches. I'm glad the players had each other's backs and in my earlier posts I suggested that the Chinese team was at fault; I didn't want the Hoyas to stoop to their level though. If you and others disagree with that so be it.
