How about Won/Lost record? If you could correspond the Won/Loss record with offensive stats, I may agree. But I think we're on the same level offensively, but not in terms of winning percentage. As others have said, I think our problem has been more defensive in nature.

The next 2-3 seasons could very well define JTIII and his program. He has had some great success, and some mediocre success. It does seem he is making some adjustments in his recruiting, and if this continues and is accompanied by the tweaking of the offense and defense that constantly occurs in all successful programs,we can reclaim our status at the top of the Big East rather than in the middle. III is a smart guy, he is a driven coach, he has good people with him, and I have faith that we will be chuckling in a few years about the concerns we are debating now.

I think the glass is more than 2/3 full. I think we all wonder how good we might have been if Jeff had stayed for his senior season or Greg had stayed one more year. Hell, what if a more mature Big Ticket had decided to stick it out here instead of listening to whatever voices pointed him South. I realize player mobility is part of the modern collegiate game. Vaughn before he wore down had some great games and it's sobering to speculate where we might have ended up without him last year.
I would say if we are are not an elite program, I would certainly call us nationally relevant.
At the end of next season, we reach the 40th anniversary of the appointment of Big John. I was a freshman then and I vividly remember much of the preceding 71-72 disaster. When Fr Henle introduced John he talked about getting into the post-season every so often. My, how expectations have changed and it's a great thing.

My senior season was the year before Big John was hired. Gtown was 3-23. John II and the Big East propelled the Hoyas into national prominence. An entire generation of basketball fans has emerged with great expectations. JTIII has continued that tradition. He not only is a hard worker, a dedicated supporter of the Hoya family and an excellent recruiter, but his demeanor on the court, his actions off the court, and most importantly, the record and actions of the athletes he has recruited, are exemplary. One can debate his strengths as an X and O game coach, etc., but the results are a team that regularly is within the top 25 and often emerging into the top 10. My view is looking damn good.

i think jt3 is a good coach ,but not a top 15 in the country coach.the difference is adjusting your coaching to the players you have.a great coach will make completely different systems and plays for the teams they are dealt.you loose seniore, transfers etc.you change the way you coach, not forever but with the team you have.with say this years team, instead of trying to force feed all these young guys, which will take a year or two to learn the offence, change it this year some.not completely abandon it,simplify it where the freshman get it faster.play more depth, press more,we can kill teams on the glass with all the size we have now.play 10-11 players change with what you have press, trap, force turnovers run more.but it depends on 3 what he does.the great coaches win with less a lot of times, pitino did it last year.jt3 is a pretty good coach to me,but in my eyes he needs to adjust with what he has.do not force the system on these young players it will be 2 years before they are comfortable with it. but that is how it is,and it is the way coach coaches,so i fully expect to see us run it. all you can do is sometimes bite your tonge and keep rooting for hoyas to win. go gu win or loose i love this team.
go hoyas!!!!!!
