Harry is now a licensed driver. New worries for an old Dad. Good luck 'vad. Whatever hairs are not gray will soon give up the ghost.

After what you’ve both been through what a blessing to have driving as a new worry - God bless you both

Harry is now a licensed driver. New worries for an old Dad. While it's certainly mildly terrifying, I'm sure you and your wife are very glad that you're able to worry about "normal" things with regard to Harry. When you're older, getting older kinda sucks but I sure am glad to still be around to have read about Harry's incredible journey and to know that Harry and his parents get to be concerned about regular stuff. Congrats to Harry on another milestone. Don't forget to be concerned about what happens in the back seats, too.

Big day for Harry today as he leaves on a 17 day trip to Germany.
He has been Zoom Friends with a young man who attends a brother school to St Joe’s Prep in Bonn, Germany and Harry’s group of 12 kids from Prep will be living with host families, attending some classes and touring Bonn and Cologne.
We are very excited for him but will miss him terribly. Guess it is a good preview for when he goes to college.

Drinking age in Germany is 16, no?

Today this thread reaches the age of 12.
Through God’s graces, amazing medical talent and a fair dose of my son’s courage, he is a happy and healthy 17 year old boy finishing his Junior year at St Joe’s Prep and beginning his college search (GU is on, but may not top, his list).
Our family will be forever grateful for the love, kindness, support and well wishes he(and we) has received from his HoyaTalk family.

Go Georgetown! Go Harry! Harry has to go to Georgetown! Harry can be manager of either the soccer team or the XC/track team OR a walkon on the track team. We are so happy that it turned out well for Harry.

Elvado, tell us more re: what’s going on with his college choices? I thought GU was a done deal.

He is looking at GU, Penn, Princeton, Columbia, Northwestern and a couple others.
Wants to be a journalist/broadcaster so GU might not be ideal.

Yesterday was the seventh anniversary of the day my wife started her treatment for stage 3 ovarian cancer. I guess we're forever linked.

Harry submitted his GU application today.
Fingers crossed…
Would be something very right about him attending a school that has so lovingly supported him.
