Yesterday, Harry and his sister Morgan spent the day making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, a tuna casserole and a large tray of franks and beans that my wife and I took to St. John’s Hospice, a men’s shelter in Philadelphia.
Not sure we’ve ever been prouder of the kids.

Governor Wolf wisely announced PA schools are closed for the duration of the academic year.
It is clearly the right thing to do. That said, I am very sad for Harry and all of the other 8th graders, Seniors, etc who will be missing out on long-anticipated and well-deserved graduation ceremonies.
As he always does, my son is bearing up well to this news and we know his school and principal will do something to honor these kids when the time is right.
Stay safe and well.

I think when Coach Wiese gives out the scholarship offer to a kid still in 8th grade, Harry will forget all about the missed graduation ceremony😉 You and all the family stay safe as well 'vad.

Unlike this year’s high school and college grads who got robbed of their celebratory ending, 8th graders get to reunite with their classmates. That said, middle school graduation is a milestone and a big deal for some students. Also, grandparents aren’t getting any younger. Plus, maybe no baseball for the kids. ☹️

Does Harry still play baseball or just soccer? Soccer and running. I think the curveball ended his baseball career.

Today, Harry and his 8th grade classmates get to return to their grade school for on e last day to get their alumni pins, sign yearbooks and get an open trolley ride around Philadelphia (masked of course).
Tomorrow, they get their long-delayed graduation, being held on the roof/playground of their downtown school.
When I opened this thread, I did not know if he would ever get the chance to start school.
Thank you to everyone in the Hoyatalk community for your unfailing love and support for my little boy.
I know he will make you all proud.
