Elvado, I have been a lurker on this board for years, your thread was finally reason for me to join and post. I am thrilled for you and your family that Harry is doing so great. I am a pediatric oncology nurse myself so I know first hand what you are going through. It's a hard road, but as you've seen, kids are amazing and resilient. And with a dad and family behind him like you, there is no doubt his road will be easier. Great to hear he went to school today! Love that you buzzed your head too and his classmates are in on the support! God Bless and I will continue to keep Harry in my thoughts and prayers! Harry Saxa!! God bless you for what you do each and every day. The love, patience and talents of the nurses and doctors we've encountered is a testament to the best of the human spirit. Though I don't know you, I am in awe of what you do and love you for it. Thank you so much. It truly means a lot to hear those words from someone who has, unfortunately, had to see first hand what my job entails. Getting to know families like yours is why I continue to do the job. And you certainly have some of the very best nurses and doctors up there at CHOP. Glad you all had a good weekend at home. I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way as you start round two tomorrow. Please feel free to PM me if there is any way I can help you guys.

Day 2 of round 2 of Harry's chemo and my little man is taking it like a champ. is up and around his room and the hospital and if anything his appetite in increasing.
We thank God that he is tolerating this so well and seems to be getting better each day.
The resilience and courage of all of the children we are meeting is nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Each child in this hospital, as well as those all around the world, defines heroism each and every day. While I wish my son did not have this fight on his hands, we are better people for the heroes we've met.

P.S. Cancer has no shot vs. my boy.

Harry completes round two of his chemo today. It will be great to get him home again. He has had a great week with virtually no side effects and has been up and around exploring the whole hospital.
He continues to amaze me with how he is responding to the treatments.
Next up will be the harvesting of stem cells so they can give him back his own bone marrow after he completes chemotherapy. The geniuses that figured all this out are truly amazing.
Meanwhile, i just thank God for Harry's progress and for the chance to watch him play and smile.

Home yesterday. Got to sleep through the night without someone taking his BP and temp every four hours and asking if he is okay.
Up this morning and at full speed playing with his sister.
Great to have the whole family in one place and even greater to see how well Harry is doing.
Keep the prayers and love coming. They clearly are helping my son.

Harry is still doing great and fighting hard. Had to make an unexpected return to hospital due to a fever while his white counts were wiped out. Merely precautionary but boy is he hacked off. My man does not like his schedule changed.
He is doing great, feels well and is in the early stages of kicking the living hell out of cancer. Next week begins the harvesting of stem cells for his bone marrow replacement and then on 3/21 is his next round of chemo.
My heart breaks when I look at him in that hospital bed, but my heart swells when I see him battling and taking no prisoners. He is my hero and cancer has no FUC@ING chance against my son.
Hope the boys fight as hard today as he fights every day.
