So what's everybody watching nowadays? This is what I'm currently watching (on TV or Hulu, ranked in order of how much I care about them):
Old:
Community The Venture Bros. HIMYM Castle Psych Burn Notice (yes, I'm one of those people)
New The Walking Dead Stargate Universe (technically they're still in the first season)

No Mad Men? Hawaii 5-0 and The Defenders won't be winning any Emmys, but they're solid entertainment and I've added them to my rotation.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, compares to the experience that is the BBC's Top Gear. For those of you who don't know Top Gear, 60 Minutes recently did a surprisingly good piece on the show: You can download all the past seasons via torrent at www.finalgear.com/shows/topgear/They also show it on BBC America every once in a while. History Channel is trying to do an American version of Top Gear, and while it's an entertaining show in it's on right, it comes nowhere near the absolute perfection of the BBC version.

Mad Men season is over, so it is not currently part of the rotation, but it is awesome.
Watch within a day or two of airing:
Terriers Community
Also in that category but currently out of season:
Bored to Death Mad Men Friday Night Lights Parks and Recreation Top Chef (original version - All Stars counts)
Watch within a week:
30 Rock Community HIMYM SNL (with a heavy finger on the fast forward button)
Watch as marathons when I have time to myself:
Always Sunny (I am way behind on this season, much to my shame) Treme (got through season 1, will definitely return for Season 2) Eastbound and Down (have not had time for this season yet) 30 for 30 (skipping a few here and there)
I would probably be better about those "marathon" shows if I was not sharing DVR space with someone who has no real interest in them. Likewise, I might follow shows like The League and some Adult Swim stuff, perhaps the RW/RR Challenges, but I know I would never get to them.
DVR'ed but rarely watched unless out of new shows or sports to watch:
Bourdain Top Chef Masters Next Iron Chef
Frankly I should use that time to read, or cook, or do something more productive, but they are fine for turning off the brain.
Special category:
Boardwalk Empire - I fell far behind when my Sunday nights were too full with Mad Men and sports, but I am catching up and I am maybe 3-4 episodes behind

Other than Lost and The Simpsons, I don't think I've watched an actual network (not cable) show in years. And Lost is over, and The Simpsons pretty much sucks now.
For actual scripted shows that I like to watch, I'm limited to basically four channels (I would probably watch HBO shows, but I don't get HBO anymore; I should probably add that back in & probably will before Game of Thrones premiers):
On USA, I like all three of their big shows, Psych, Burn Notice & White Collar. The US marshal one is dumb and the new one with Piper Perabo, forget it. It's REALLY dumb. But I try all of them out because USA is more hit than miss.
On FX, I like Sunny, The League & Louie. Terriers is OK, but Sons of Anarchy has lost me. Justified is very, VERY good.
On Comedy Central, I still watch South Park & Futurama religiously. That's mainly it (I usually watch the opening segment of TDS, but I don't think that's in the same category as shows we're talking about here).
On Adult Swim, my favorites right now are The Venture Brothers & Children's Hospital.
Oh, and Buffy reruns on Logo.
And frankly, I think that's enough TV for anyone.
Post script: Now that NHL and NCAAB seasons have started, I watch a lot less shows. I still DVR them, but I don't always get to them. I thought the DVR hard drive was a lot bigger than it actually is.*
(*Memo to HSB if he checks in here: That also, is what she said.)

I'm surprised no one has given The Event a chance. Sure, it's not life-changing, but it fills a void left by Lost and 24.

It's not airing right now but Breaking Bad is the best show on TV. AMC is a few shows into re-airing all the episodes from the start. I highly recommend checking it out.

So no one's watching the Walking Dead but me? I kinda thought a zombie show would be a hit here.

So no one's watching the Walking Dead but me? I kinda thought a zombie show would be a hit here. Have seen it. Am not watching it regerly. I think I'm kind of tired of zombies* at the moment. I blame Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray. And Call of Duty. Kind of like everyone got tired of vampires a few years ago. Not saying it's bad, just that I can't seem to get into it. (*Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, someone's going to say it's not REALLY about zombies, blah, blah, blah. Whatever. It is.)

Haha, kc.
Love that people are mentioning Venture Brothers. The season finale was on Sunday and it was the best episode they've ever done, IMO. Just a fantastically done show that rewards close watching.

Just about everything watched on Tivo these days:
On the night it airs, in order of most anticipated each week: Community (hands down highlight of the week for comedies - and Season 1 DVD is gift that keeps on giving with commentaries on EVERY episode.) Mad Men Cougartown (title aside, great show and lots of good Bill Lawrence zany-ness) Parks & Rec (cannot WAIT for it to come back!) 30 Rock The Office It's Always Sunny (recent addition after a summer of catching up) Simpsons Family Guy
With the wife, often on the night it airs: How I Met Your Mother (joint decision) Big Bang Theory (my call, she loves it, sadly because it reminds her of me I suspect) Good Wife (her call, but I find it to be a surprisingly good and decent legal drama) Better With You (joint discovery, not afraid to admit it) Modern Family (my call, she's come around for Season 2) Next Food Network Star (only reality show I can stomach, no pun intended)
On weekends/In blocks when I have the time: Good Eats - Alton Brown is a genius Glee -- yes, and I don't care what you think. I'm a band geek - it feels comforting and familiar! South Park Conan Daily Show Saturday Night Live (there's something about it being a cultural touchstone) Iron Chef America
When it pops up on the Suggestions: Tosh.O The League
And finally - show watched on Netflix Instant Queue and now instantly regretting I didn't watch when on the air because it was brilliant and should have been given a third season: Better off Ted. Great cast and always funny premises. Veridian Dynamics, we hardly knew ye.

OK, I'll provide a more complete list:
Watch Every Week When Its Actually Airing: The Event The Walking Dead (I've definitely gotten into this one, too. It's a shame it's such a short season...only 1 or 2 left, right?) Mad Men (when in season)
DVR and Watch Either When Its Airing or Within a Week: South Part Simpsons Always Sunny The Challenge: Cutthroat (the newest MTV Real World/Road Rules/Who Are These People, Anyway? competition show. It's pure garbage. But it's sometimes amusing garbage. And in the end, isn't that real entertainment. The answer is no.)
DVD'ing: Carnivale The Wire (I've already seen them all, but going through with the g/f...now early in season 4.) Weeds The Critic (SO underrated.)
DVD'ing Soon: Sons of Anarchy (Getting season 1 soon. This show intrigues me for some reason.) Breaking Bad (Also seriously need to get caught up on this. I've heard only good things.)

I'm surprised no one has given The Event a chance. Sure, it's not life-changing, but it fills a void left by Lost and 24. I gave it a chance. It's such a rip-off of both of those shows (first episode plane, Blair Underwood as a poor man's President Palmer). It reminds me a lot of Heroes in that it is just ripping off other shows. And I totally LOLed hard when they did the reveal that the President and Vice President were the first modern bipartisan ticket.
