What has happened to the offense? It looks like 2009 all over again.

ESPN.com lists it as a 14-7 Hoyas win. Confirmation?

Final, 14-7. Not much of an offensive show, but let's take it.

4-7, not as high as expectations got in late September, but 2-3 was the best PL record for the Hoyas since joining the league, IIRC.
On balance, I'll take the improvement and see what the Hoyas can do with (hopefully) a larger returning senior class next year. Definitely lots of room for improvement, and the need to figure out how our hot offensive start to the season was solved by all the defenses we faced in the second half.

Definitely lots of room for improvement, and the need to figure out how our hot offensive start to the season was solved by all the defenses we faced in the second half. In a really bad year for the PL, Georgetown was still sixth of seven offensively. Its three best games came against teams that were playing their respective season openers (Davidson, Lafayette, Yale) and once teams shook off the rust and studied the game films, the passing lanes evaporated for GU and it resorted to rotating quarterbacks. Whether you point to coaching, recruiting, execution, or all three, this was the softest schedule in the league and good for more than four wins.

Fair enough, but was it good for 4+ more wins than last year's was?

Just my opinion, but yes.
Georgetown dropped and/or was dropped by three scholarship teams (Howard, Richmond, ODU) to play Davidson, Wagner, and Sacred Heart (combined record: 11-22), and GU won just one of these. It beat a 2-9 Lafayette team and frankly caught Holy Cross napping. Even if you forget about the pick-six to lose to Bucknell and the special teams mistakes that cost the Fordham game, I think this schedule was not taken advantage of.

Gonna have to agree with DFW here - what made following this team so maddening was that they were clearly on the cusp of several more wins and a truly outstanding (by Georgetown football standards) season. I'm sure Holy Cross was somewhat napping when they played us, but still, that game and others show the potential that existed.
Ironically, if the series with Howard hadn't been aborted - anyone care to share exactly what happened there? - I'm pretty sure we would have annihilated them. Then again, one would think the same thing about our game with 1-10 Bucknell.
