I wouldn't pass because the kid had issues with K over playing time. I would pass because I think LJ is better and has more upside. If I had his ear, I would suggest that he go back home to SMU or Houston. Run and Gun for a year and pad stats.......

Considering the clash with Coach K, only one year of eligibility left, and having to sit out a full year, this is a tough one to figure out. I bet most schools pass.
If he was an elite PG, I'd make a play for Georgetown, assuming the off-the-court stuff checks out okay.
Otherwise, I'm not sure I see the need.

If the rumors are true, we don't want to be anywhere near this kid. The rumors are all over the place on Sulaimon. Some of the rumors are nonsensical, and others are troubling. I don't know what to think, and so I'll choose not to think about it.

Well, it only took K a year. Seems like the uber-ethical K tossed him not for sexually assaulting two women but rather because it was about to go public. Gotta love K.

I was looking forward to seeing what Jay Bilas, the grand apologizer for all things Dukie, had to say about the latest news out of Durham, but (surprise, surprise) ESPN has no news at all regarding the alleged assaults on its website.
Maybe this is a means by which BC can get the automatic bid, in a future season, to the NCAA tournament. Just stay in a league where all other programs are on probation and ineligible for post-season play.

"All Criminals Conference" ACC
sexual assault Duke, FSU, Louisville; check the rap sheet Syracuse, infraction city Miami; fill out your own eligibility papers UNC; just a thought. I'm probably leaving out others.
These things can happen within any conference but a lot of these offenses does not seem be very important in the all criminal's conference.

People rail against the NCAA for being inconsistent. In these cases, however, they've been remarkably consistent. No penalties for anyone.

Some recent stories come to mind when I read the responses here. The allegations against the Duke lacrosse players which turned out to be fabricated and the more recent rape allegation which Rolling Stone reported at UVA which had numerous inaccuracies. Goes to show that where there's smoke, could be just smoke.
Neither of these allegations in Sulaimon's case was reported to either the police or the University. I can completely understand a woman choosing not to pursue these allegations against Sulaimon for whatever reasons she chooses. Especially considering the power of Duke basketball... but it does leave all involved to be tried in the court of public opinion which is rarely fair to anyone. Details are just too vague imo.

Sure, could be smoke, could also be a 5 alarm fire that we ignore because it isn't our house that's burning down. There are times when allegations are false, but there are thousands more times when allegations are true and absolutely nothing gets done about it. If you think something similar to the UVA case hasn't actually happened before at any number of other universities, you're fooling yourself. It's also incredibly naive to think these things don't happen at Georgetown. I spent my Jr. And Sr. years volunteering at a rape crisis hotline, it happens and most victims are too ashamed themselves to admit to anyone other than an anonymous voice on the other line what happened to them. Those 2 recent cases only make it harder for real victims who often feel like unless it's on video, no one is going to believe them.

By all accounts, Rasheed was a standout kid coming out of high school both on and off the court. Very promising freshman year that yielded a number of Shane Battier comparisons. As much as I dislike Duke, I don't think the basketball program has brought in players with character concerns.

The NCAA is either going to have to let all transfers play immediately, or make a change to the graduate transfer rule. It's getting out of hand.

Wait. How is he eligible immediately? Sexual assault allegations plus getting kicked off a team equals instant eligibility? If anybody needed to sit out a year to get his head straight, it's this guy. Nice of MD to become the redemption spot for people charged with sexual assault.

Oh, he must be completing Duke's infamous 3 year program for basketball players which is a joke. The one where students get credit for classes during the summer that they aren't even present for.

Going to Maryland, eligible immediately. Turgeon is a Larry Brown disciple. You know the same Larry Brown that got Kansas banned from the NCAA tournament after winning the NCAA tournament when he bolted for the Sprus. The same Larry Brown whose most famous disciple is John Calipari.

Maryland will have great talent together for one year. Can Turgeon get them to play as good as it looks on paper?
