Weve never had the balls to pick a qb and stick with him and it always kills us.

9 minutes left in 3rd quarter. GU scored on a 32 yard pass from Kemp. And then Bucknell returned the kickoff 80+ yards.

Jeremy Moore is good. Nice punt return to Bucknell 25 yd line undone by a penalty.

Hoyas down 24-21. Turnover on downs in Bucknell territory. About 3 minutes left. Need a 3 and out.

Play clock broken. Has been, on and off, for years. They can't fix it. Sometimes it works for a few weeks in a row, but at the moment, it's broken.
If that's not emblematic of the Kelly era, I don't know what is.

Similar loss to last week. We could have closed it out, and we have a pass picked off.

Missed tackles. Poor play calls. 76 yard kick returns. Giving up 27 yards on a 4th and 25. Throwing a pick-six from your own ten. Calling a play like that at your own ten.
I just don't know what kind of team returns there in four weeks. It was that bad.

Is it laziness, getting too excited after 3 wins or regression to the mean?
I really don't know

On the bright side, the Gtown Alumni Flag Football team went 2-0 against Auburn and Richmond today.

On the bright side, the Gtown Alumni Flag Football team went 2-0 against Auburn and Richmond today. In other good news, on Friday night, Georgetown's Rugby Football team defeated the Naval Academy Division 2 team, 20-12, in Annapolis to remain undefeated in league play. Prop Jordan Maitland '12 led all scores with two tries for 10 points. Prop Dan Bercik '11 scored a try for five points. Flyhalf Jack Sheridan '14 added a conversion and a penalty kick. So there's that. Also, ESPN has a post up entitled Pitt slaps Syracuse with dose of reality. The thought of Syracuse being slapped in public always makes me feel better. As for the football game that took place on Multi-Shame Field today... well, it was entertaining. And I actually felt pretty good about Georgetown winning right up until the godawful pick-six, since Bucknell's offense was going absolutely nowhere during the second half. However, the combined weight of all the horrendous mistakes, inexcusable penalties (I'm looking at you Kelly...sideline interference? Seriously?), questionable play calling, special teams miscues, etc. etc. is enough to suck any sort of positive energy from this game right out of me. That and, you know, the whole "losing to a previously winless and listless team" thing. Particularly contemptible were the repeated instances that would be classified missed tackles, except the angles taken by the Georgetown defenders were so bad that they didn't get close enough to miss the tackle. Taking the cake was one particular play, which I've spent the rest of the day attempting to classify. Worst defensive play I've ever seen? Arguably, although there are a lot of contenders. Can't be "most nauseating" either, since it didn't come at the end of the game and didn't involve a gruesome injuries. I finally settled on "most embarrassing." THREE Georgetown defenders had simultaneous kill-shots on the Bucknell QB, Wesley, 15 yards behind his own line of scrimmage... on 1st and 25. He proceeded to dance around all of them and take off on a 50-yard run for a 38-yard gain; the Bison scored on the next play, with a minute left in the second. People talk about talent disparities... when you have three defenders unabated to the quarterback and he burns them and the rest of the defense on a 50-yard run, that's a talent disparity. Frustrating.
