David still needs our prayers. He has relapses every 15-17 months, and he is on month 15.

David continues to be in remission. April 5 will mark 27 months! the longest remission he's been in by 10 months since getting ill 5.5 years ago! This treatment regimen, based on HIS research, is working!

Here is a talk that David gave in February talking about the whole journey from Georgetown to Penn Med school to his diagnosis of Castleman's disease. He is a remarkable young man.

From David:
I wanted to share that today marks 33 months since my last life-threatening Castleman disease relapse--twice as long as ever before. I am in my longest remission thanks to a treatment, which had never been used for Castleman disease, that I identified through Castleman Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN) research!
Great news from David!

From David:
I recently crossed four years since my last relapse of idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease! I nearly died five times in my first three and a half years after diagnosis, but since starting a new treatment four years ago, I've been relapse-free! CDCN research helped me to identify this new treatment, and I became the first iMCD patient treated with it. I am so thankful for everyone who has donated to CDCN research. You give us hope that thousands of other patients can have relapse-free remissions like me.
The Today Show is planning to run a story about our work on this Sunday (January 14) between 8-9AM EST on NBC (of course, it could be rescheduled for breaking news). You should feel proud that you have been a part of this life-saving work. I hope you'll check it out and share with friends!

David has written a book about his ordeal: Dear friends, family, and colleagues: I hope your summer has been great and you're getting ready for the fall! I’m so excited for the upcoming launch of my book, Chasing My Cure: A Doctor's Race to Turn Hope Into Action, on September 10. It’s my story of battling a rare and deadly disease and discovering a treatment that is saving my life, my story of learning about living from nearly dying. I think it’s also a universal tale about getting up and fighting back after life knocks us down. I hope that it will inspire readers to turn their hopes into actions. I would greatly appreciate your support in getting the book off to a strong start. If you’ve ever faced a seemingly insurmountable challenge, had a loved one diagnosed with a rare or deadly disease, or want to promote our collaborative research approach that leverages the 1500 already FDA-approved drugs, it will mean a lot to me if you help in any of the following ways: 1. Pre-order the book for yourself and as a gift for friends/family. Pre-orders make a big difference in encouraging Amazon and bookstores to notice, stock, and promote a book. Chasing My Cure is available in hardcover, electronic, and audio formats: www.amazon.com/dp/1524799610/2. Spread the word. Posts on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram announcing the book’s arrival will be much appreciated. Below are some burbs that you can share. 3. Join me in your city. I'll be speaking and signing books in Philly, Boston, Raleigh, San Diego, New York City, and likely a few more locations this fall: chasingmycure.com/event-calendar-event/Thank you so much for your support. Best wishes for a happy and healthy fall! All my best, David

He's an inspirational person and Hoya. May God bless him, keep him and his family safe, and let him continue to set the world on fire.

Great webinar with David and Julia Farr (of Alum Association). Passing seven years in remission from Castleman's Disease. They recorded the session, so it might be available soon.
