Half the players on the show were rocking some sort of glasses they don't actually need.

Lebron was not the first person to say it---Kobe actually said it first, when he told the world that he was going straight to the NBA.

Hope is the operative word. Hopefully we can recruit against Alabama and Fresno State. We now know we can't against Kentucky. I'm pretty sure we can recruit against Kentucky - for talented players. For one and done players who announce their decisions on TV and put out rumors that they're going to a different school to create an element of drama for their decision? That's not Georgetown and won't ever be. I don't really even blame Boumtje, I'm sure he has his sources, but at some level the sources lied. When he agreed to be a part of the ESPN special like TC said that told me he was not Georgetown bound. Kids that are Hoya recruits just are not egotistical that way. Would have been ok with his choice of Ky if he ESPN and Cal did not use Hoyas as a pawn to hike their ratings. Lets hope Hoyas get to pay them back in the BE-SEC matchups.

Bazz's sister is a tennis pro sponsored by Adidas. Ucla is an adidas school. Bazz stayed loyal.

All of a sudden, I have a lot of respect for Shabazz who chose UCLA over Kentucky$$$. And oh yeah, next year Kentucky team w/o Shabazz will never be as good as this year one - sweet 16 at MOST. There was probably $$ involved with that too. I think Howland is def. cleaner than Cal. Shabazz has a motivation to join KA and Tony Parker to make Fab Five Ver 2.0 and be a star on his own w/o any comparisons to precedents at UK. And no, I am actually really glad that NN is not coming - kid's offense is raw and his personality doesn't match. He will average about 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 3-4 blocks, which isn't bad, but UK is not going far next year.

If you don't think Shabazz's decision was (also) motivated by something other than basketball, I don't know what to tell you.
Thought this would be the outcome for a while & Good luck to Nerlens.
But, no way around it this was a real punch in the gut, especially after the last two days but what can you do.

That wasn't exactly a clean recruitment either. But in all honesty when it comes to truly elite kids, what is a clean recruitment these days? That's just the way it is now.

The only thing that's embarrassing about all this is that there's 148 pages to this thread. This is a high school kid--maybe he'll be decent in his one year, but why all the fuss? Jeff Green, Dwayne Wade and hundreds of others didn't make these lists and were better than most no. 1 recruits ever. I just don't get all the day-to-day obsession.
One other thought on the "good riddance" response--which is of course BS because the same people would have been on here going crazy if he'd chosen us--don't you have to put some faith in JTIII and the staff for being interested in this kid despite some of the superficial red flags?
When its said and done, it is disappointing but understandable that the kid picked the defending national champions at a massive state school with a huge fanbase and an incredible recent track record (of the coach) for getting players to the NBA. If you step back from it, it is mind-boggling that GU was even in the same discussion.

I'm sure Otto Porter and Jason Clark and Henry Sims and Hollis Thompson and you name it would have turned the opportunity to be on ESPNU making their announcement, if the option were available to them. No question about it.

I can't believe $omething could change hi$ mind that late.....what could that $omething have been? Man, this thing exposed just how little our self-annointed insiders here know. We all got played. One funny sidenote is that balla now has "Roscoe = HOYA" and "Nerlens Noel = HOYA" on his resume. Less upset than I expected to lose out on him - he's one and done and it's hard to fault a kid like that for going to UK in the current college hoops environment. I hope we land one of the big fish still out there though. What these insiders do is pass along info. You can choose to believe it or not. Bulla always defended himself by attacking people who dared question his expertise. That is why he is a fugaise.

Any one who is saying "im happy he isnt coming" or "doesnt matter" is lying and is a fool. Please people, its OK to be upset about this. THIS!!!!!!!! I dont care how much of a head case NN would have been in GTown. I feel like he was the 1st domino in a championship offseason. NN>DP>Kenner>C'ship......... So what if he only stayed for 1 year if we at least made it to the FF. Plus I have complete faith that Bril would have kept Nerlens in check....................

What these insiders do is pass along info. In this case, I'm not sure they weren't lied to by someone just to create drama for this. I'll never watch another one of these things again. Kids going to Georgetown announce at their high school. Not on TV after trying to pump up the drama on their Twitter.

Eh - would have been stoked to have him but hard to be upset about a kid ultimately deciding he didn't want to be a Hoya. Just not a fit.
