God I hate Marquette. Even when we aren't playing them or competing in the Big East, they have to go and Edited up my efforts to watch the Hoyas with a game at the exact same time Thursday night. Sports bar or March Madness on Demand. I will be in New Orleans on Thursday, so I'm in the same boat. Sucks. in New Orleans: We're going to watch at Cooter Brown's at Carrollton and St. Charles. Unfortunately, under-18's are not allowed in, but Cooter's is among the few places with the full basketball satellite package that will allow us to watch the whole game without being interrupted by other games. (We promise more kid-friendly locations for later games!) So, here's the details: What: NCAA Tourney Round 1 - Georgetown v. Ohio When: Thursday, Mar. 18, 6:25 pm Where: Cooter Brown's, corner of Carrollton & St. Charles

I'm guessing the 1:00 on Saturday will be Nova-Rich/StMary since they are the day games Thursday. Would they switch them for any reason (ratings, etc.)? Not sure how it has worked in the past, but you would have to guess that they would make the early Thursday game the early Saturday game (same as conference tourney).

I suppose that's what I get for planning on proposing to my girlfriend during the tournament. FML. Hopefully she doesn't read the board!

I don't know if they have fixed it, but in past years MMOD has blacked out games that were supposed to be on CBS in my area - NY - but in some cases, they weren't actually showing the game. An article in today's NY Times seems to say they may be getting rid of that completely - meaning you can watch all the games on MMOD no matter what is supposed to be on your local CBS affiliate. But in a "tweener" area like the NY area where GU might be on for a while and then get pre-empted, or they would be quick to cut away, the system was a problem. Hopefully that won't happen this year.

Does anyone know definitively the two time slots for Saturday's games in Providence (i.e. 1:00 and 3:30 or 2:30 and 5:00, etc.)

That happened in 2007 for our BC game. It was supposed to be the main game on TV in my market so it was blacked out online. But, the game before us went really long so CBS didn't cut away to our game. I was unable to see the entire first half of our game which really made me mad and didn't endear me to anyone at the party we were at. My wife still talks about what an ass I was that day. So, for the sake of my marriage, I hope CBS has changed that rule and will make our games 100% available to me in one way or another.

Last year nova as the 3 seed played american on thurs night and had the 1 pm game vs ucla on saturday because it was more appealing nationally. I would imagine gtown/tennessee is more appealing nationally than either nova possibile opponent but if we get sdsu, maybe not...

Hoboken, I wasn't sure how it worked in the NCAA. That's good to hear, I would love to wake up Saturday and watch us play without any interruptions.

In the past few years CBS has added at least 2 additional channels to televise more games. Not the case this year. Bad CBS. At least I was able to watch Curling almost 24/7 during the olympics on CNBC or MSNBC.

CBS won't make a definitive decison about Saturday until Friday am. When the Hoyas were in Dayton a few years back, the GU/Ohio State game was supposed to be the early game on Sunday; it was even announced that way. Then somebody looked at some numbers/ flipped a coin/ who the hell knows and at lunch time Saturday, UNC/George Mason became the early game, and GU/OSU became the lead in to 60 Minutes.

According to StubHub, the Saturday session in Providence starts at 1 p.m., and there's also a 3:30 game. Not sure whether they determine who plays in which game until they see who wins the Thursday games, though. I suppose that's what I get for planning on proposing to my girlfriend during the tournament. FML. Priorities!! Seriously though, congratulations and don't forget to update your signature.
