the worst part is we ARE a better team than them.. UWV is so overrated. One good player and we refuse to deny him the ball with 9 seconds left

Wright made a great run and got to the basket, just couldn't make the shot. Doubt we would have gotten a better look from full court with 4.2 left and their defense set. This. Wright had the lay-up, it wasn't a bad decision.

It was lucky shot. Props to him for making it, but it isn't like he had a clean look. we are th dumbest team in the world everyone know butler was going ot get the ball, way to defend him, pure stupidity

On replay, the winning shot was a travel. Butler's right foot was on the floor before the release.

Thanks for the tremendous run, Hoyas! It's been a pleasure watching you guys play this week.
It would have been nice if WVU had to make more than one basket in the last seven minutes, but that's college basketball these days.

that foul by chris killed us. we basically gave them 2 points. we didn't deserve to win this game. they are a much tougher team than we are. I know you are upset, as we all are, but bull$hit. +100,100,000

Even though our outside shots weren't falling, it was their offensive rebounding that killed us.

Wright made a great run and got to the basket, just couldn't make the shot. Doubt we would have gotten a better look from full court with 4.2 left and their defense set. Clark was teeing one up on the wing. I wished we just shot for the win there given our legs/energy at that point.

Hey, I'm just happy I don't have to do the Google search of shame: "NIT bracket". The loss hurts, but they are playing good basketball at the right time of year.

I never complain about officials costing a team the game, but when the officiating is so completely different from one half to the next it is difficult not to be irritated. The Big East should be embarrassed by this crew tonight. In the first half everything was allowed as Monroe was being mugged. In the second they went the other way until the last 2 minutes when they once again put their whitles in their pockets.

how can you possibly question that they are a much tougher team? they completely took us out of our offense by being physical and manhandled us on the boards.
absolutely inexcusable foul by wright. how on earth do you not know the score at that time of the game?? not calling a timeout the last play was foolish.

For some reason i'm not hurt. loses magnify things, wins conceal things sometimes. great college game. anyway... yeah, he traveled...right, and jeff green traveled against Vandy. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

The shot Butler hit was their only FG the last 7:30. We just couldn't hit enough shots on our end. Great D, a lot of great plays by Wright and Freeman, just wasn't enough.

No one got jobbed by the officiating. They just refused to let the teams play in the last few minutes. It's maddening, but you have to accept it as an occupational hazard of being a college basketball fan.

Great run in NYC, Hoyas. Great run.
Butler is outstanding. Three guys right there and forced him to take some BS and he still gets it to fall. What are you gonna do.
