Counting tonite, we have 3 home games including Duke and 3 on the road including Villanova and Syracuse. What should we reasonably expect? I would like all 6. Can we?

CLUTTER
also, LIC, take your meds...it seems like you are trying to catch SFHOYA this week in terms of post count. I hate hitting Last 10 Posts and seeing 8 from you...it is disheartening...please refrain from posting if you have nothing of substance to say.
Thx.

Lock this thread immediately. Burn it, bury it and salt the earth over it.
379 minutes until game time. Do we really need to introduce bad juju?

We should reasonably expect all the chicken littles to come out if we lose a game, lic to be excited if we win, and everyone to still hate Syracuse.

As has been stated before, 1-0 in the next one game is what I reasonably expect.
As far as the next six, no clue. I don't think anyone knows how good this team is yet, and what to expect for the next six games or for the rest of the season, especially after last year. I think that's why many of us are taking it one game at a time.

Kenpom predicts 2-4 for us over the next 6 games - it's definitely the toughest stretch of the season. Hope the usual suspects don't infiltrate with their overwhelming negativity and sonnets to Biggle McClain if we take our lumps the next few weeks.

Actually, while the individual games are at 2-4, the net expected value is actually 3-3.
That's mainly because while we are dogs in 4 games, he's not projecting us as huge dogs to Pitt or Nova, and he sees us as a strong favorite against SHU (83%) and places Rutgers at home as almost impossible to lose (97%). In other words, the system projects us to steal one of the four dogs and win both the "easy" games.
Of course, (a) we've underperformed Pomeroy the last couple of games and (b) I think Pomeroy is underrating Pitt and Nova (the most likely upsets) because Gilbert Brown and Jermaine Dixon missed most of the games this year AND most of Nova's games are without Yarou.
So yeah, maybe 2-4 is right.

I hate hitting Last 10 Posts and seeing 8 from you...it is disheartening...please refrain from posting if you have nothing of substance to say. Thx. I second this whole-heartedly. I know that Lic is a huge, and long-time, supporter of GU and the basketball program, and I think that is great. But "disheartening" is a great word for what it is like having to navigate through all of his meaningless posts when you have limited time to try to get up to date on Hoya news, for which there is no better place than this Board.

I agree on Pitt, but do you think Yarou is a huge difference for Nova right now? I can see down the road, but he's not exactly setting the world on fire right now, averaging 2.7 points, 2 boards, and .7 blocks in his first three games back.

You're right -- he's not exactly lighting it up. Pitt is a different team.

Based on Pomeroy %s:
Chance of:
0-6: 0.1% 1-5: 4.5% ... 5-1: 6.3% 6-0: 1.0%

I hope we do better than 2-4, I think we are definitely capable. It just seems to early to really understand how good the Hoyas are, each night a different player raises his game to carry the team. While this is a great quality for the team, it makes figuring out just how good we are really difficult.
