Where else would take him? Question is not if but when.

Were his ratings good (as in Fox good, not CNN good)?

Fox Business maybe. I don't see any room in Fox's lineup for Dobbs to be anything but a guest. Certainly not his own show.
I certainly hope Fox does not get rid of their 7 o'clock hour. The opinion shows aside (which I can take or leave), as far as newscasters/newsanchors go, Shepherd Smith is the best in the business right now.
EDIT: I suppose Dobbs could replace the 6 o'clock show. I think those ratings have been down since Brit Hume quit.

I can only assume that Telemundo is the next logical stop, what with his grave respect for America's Spanish speaking communities.

Fox does not want to live without Glenn Beck's ratings. Any other network would kill for those. That might be true, but the only network that would let him (read: is irresponsible enough to let him ) do the show he's doing is FOX. When he was on CNN he had 1/10 the number of viewers he had now (I know, different time slots, but he was also much less toned down to fit in with CNN's culture). Take the crazy out of that show and you've got 1/3 the viewers.

Not a joke - he will run for national office. Can't wait to see him scramble for the latino vote. He better be running in North Dakota. Oh wait that's near Canada, so scratch that too. What's the geographical center of the U.S.? He should run there.

They're just out there on your side, so you don't notice it as much. Ed Schultz, Olbermann and Maddow say some pretty outrageous things. Even Matthews, who I used to like, has gone off the reservation. I'm pretty sure he actually declared a jihad -- or at least a death wish -- on Beck, IIRC. Besides, Glenn Beck's just askin' questions! (brilliant South Park, IMO).

I don't dispute that Schultz or any of the others aren't partisan but there's simply not a comparison to be made to Beck. You could make a lot of comparisons : for instance I think Lawrence O'Donnell has adopted all of Bill O'Reilly's put-words-in-your-mouth interview/shout-people-down interview tactics, a lot of the hosts are comparable to Hannity, but there is no one over there near Beck's league. Last time I checked, Rachel Maddow was not calling George Bush a racist or telling people to surround others or trying to go back to 9/11.

Keith Olbermann called George Bush a fascist on many occasions.

Listening to the beginning of his show, it certainly seemed like he was hinting about running for office (or doing something besides TV).

I can actually tolerate O'Reilly most of the time. There are plenty of moments in his show or issues on which I agree with him on certain things. His "interviews" aren't always interviews, exactly, but he's alright enough. To be honest, I'm not as anti-Dobbs as a lot of people. Hannity kind of rubs me the wrong way, but I admit that Olbermann does the same to some people. So that's fine. Glenn Beck is in a category all his own. You want proof: "It took me about a year to start hating the 9/11 victims families." mediamatters.org/mmtv/200509090003Really? "Hating" them? Well, Mr. Beck, sorry that their reactions to their loved ones' senseless death, which by the way turned into a justification for your party's entire foreign policy, is so offensive to you. (Yeah, I know, this is an old clip. But this is the sort of lunatic Beck is.)
