www.breitbart.tv/watch-live-boy-in-balloon-aircraft-soars-out-of-control-over-colorado/Apparently, this guy had a homemade helium balloon, which his six-year old son got into without him noticing and it accidentally became untethered. When it lands in a field, the police discover there is no one in the balloon. I am rooting for hoax and that a 6-year old child in Colorado is not dead. And a terrifying death it would have been. If hoax, someone better go to jail. If tragedy, this is just horrible. I guess there is another possibility that the child was able to exit the balloon before it got any altitude and is just hiding somewhere because he is scared, but that seems pretty unlikely: that his parents would've missed the balloon taking off for such a long time that they didn't see him exit, or they saw the balloon take off but missed the child exiting it before it got too high.

Who the hell has a big helium balloon just sitting around in their back yard? Bribe every senior citizen in America with a giant helium balloon instead of $250, and we might see our health care costs decline dramatically.

I watched some of the balloon chase live on tv. It is a sure fire bet for national news this evening. My guess is that the kid died a horrible death based on reports that the door to the carriage was unlocked at the time of take-off. Hope I am wrong.
On edit: I am wrong, fortunately. Reports are that the boy is safe at home.

If my name was Falcon Heene and my dad called himself a "psyience detective," I'd probably run away too.

"Butterrrrrrrrrsssss!!!"
"Oh, hamburgers!"
;D
I'm just happy the kid is alive. (I know I said someone should go to jail if it was a hoax, but I was talking about adults. )

Thank goodness the kid is alive, now we can all hate this family in good conscience.
Wife Swap? Letting your kids swear profusely? Bringing kids along on a storm chase? Ugh.

"I've figured out the boy's punishment. First, he's grounded. No leaving the house, not even for school. Second, no egg nog. In fact, no nog, period. And third, absolutely no flying in my helium balloon for three months!!"

So now it seems like it was a giant hoax.....Wolf Blitzer asks the kid why he didn't come out when he heard his parents looking for him and the kid says "You said...we did it for the show" :

Wolf should have pressed the parents on this. The dad is clearly making stuff up... Just the fact that the family had been on "Wife Swap" makes the whole thing seem suspicious.

I hope the Colorado police and all the other agencies involved in the chase send the bill to the family.

He clearly caught the guy. Drive it home, man! They should be footing the bill for all this nonsense AND they should probably face charges. The INSTANT my friend gchatted me and said "They've been on Wife Swap," I responded "This is a hoax." All the families on that show are insane.

What did CNN know, and when did they know it?
I find it hard to believe that they can escalate to this level of coverage without having some intern/production assistant quickly google the participants' names and find, "hey boss, you know these people have been trying to break into Hollywood for some time and are constantly auditioning for reality shows, right?"
Not picking on CNN alone. MSNBC and Fox should also be under fire as well.

Apparently the kid has now vomited on national television. The lesson: don't have kids.
