He is a one and done and likely headed toward a program with value$ different from GU. Just look at the list of his "strongest" schools: “...Connecticut, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pitt". (Maybe not Pitt, but the others...). We should focus on Ochefu and/or Ware for our 2012 big men.

I thought Fab Melo was one & done too. Bigs have a hard time making it happen in one year. Look at Renardo Sidney & John Riek, also one & done candidates I thought.

How hard are the Hoyas recruiting this young man? Duke, Florida, and Kentucky are after him hard. He could become the Big Man on campus.

Clutter. Drummond has his own multi-page thread.

Nobody truly knows what is going on with Drummond. Anyone who claims to is making things up or relying on rumors. He essentially went silent during high school season, and was said to be totally focused on just playing basketball. Maybe we'll start to hear more during the summer though. I will say this: whoever lands this kid is exceptionally lucky. He is going to be an absolute BEAST....already is in fact. If somehow, JTIII pulled it off, I would be beyond ecstatic.

I truly think Drummond's camp is waiting to see how the collective bargaining agreement shakes out this summer. Depending on what they decide with regards to the age limit will determine a lot for drummond. If he can jump right away he'll do that. If he has to stay 1 year he'll be looking at a certain type of school. If he has to stay 2 years he may be looking to go an alternate route other than college, or will be looking for different things in a school.

sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/news/story?id=6630586Andre Drummond vs. Isaiah Austin When the top two big men in country tangle, it's a must see. This one tilted Drummond's way as he came out aggressively to start the game. Drummond's attention on the glass and physical prowess presented a problem for Austin. Drummond, from Middletown, Conn., seemed to be fully engaged in the matchup and intent on making a point. Not only did he score with power, he passed the ball exceptionally well. Drummond did an exceptional job of forcing Austin outside of the paint with his initial catch and had a hand in Austin's face on most of his jumpers. Austin, from Mansfield, Texas, is a skill guy with range and touch, plus he's the better shot-blocker of the two. Sure to meet again this summer, this round belonged to Drummond in the battle of ESPN's No. 1 and No. 2 ranked prospects.

The owners want to up the limit to 2 years or age of 20, no way they are going backward.

This is half true--they want to up the limit as the original plan but with compromise of allowing players to leave out of HS too. So you either jump to NBA or have to stay 2 years.

I think you are off on that! That is not coming back.

Yeah my understanding is that the players' union wants to allow a straight jump, the owners want to increase the age limit and are pretty adament that they are not going back to a straight jump - although I suppose if the union made a major concession on some other issue this might be a bargaining chip the owners could throw on the table.

He has closed his recruitment to college coaches, and will apparently contact them when he's ready. This has become an extremely strange recruiting story.

Rocking Fairfield hat at the NBPA Camp and said he will choose a school based on academics. Considered a heavy UConn lean. Does that add to the weirdness? Then again, we've got a thread about him and don't spell his name correctly. It's Andre DruMMond, not Drumond. The culprit of mis-spelling at Graduation Ceremony is on the boards now or should I say "know".

Does the MM stand for Midnight Madness? I wish Ed. Stands for how his name is actually spelled.

I would like to Othello assigned to this young man. He should be a priority. If not Georgetown I hope that he choose a Big East school.

Othella (what is it with this thread and spelling? ) can't recruit for Georgetown unless kid takes a visit. He's not in position to hit the trail--that is III, Brennan, Hunter, and Kirby right now with Scott Greenman allowed to be local in Director of Basketball Operations role.

Andre cut his list. We made it. UConn, Louisville, Duke, UNC, and Pitt did as well. Obviously some pretty stiff competition, but we have no reason not to believe we're under serious consideration.
