If Johnny Flynn goes pro, how competitive do you think Cuse will be next year?
Do you think Flynn will be a solid NBA prospect, or better off waiting another year or two?
He had a great season and ended with the momentum of great play in the tournaments - I bet he goes.

Flynn is very good and will likely have a good NBA career. Plus, with this year's weak overall draft, it makes sense for him to jump now rather than having to compete with PGs like John Wall in future draft classes.

Agreed. Flynn is really good. He will be hard to replace. FYI, he already declared, but has neglected to hire an agent so he will be able to return should he not get the assurance of a lottery pick.

Good catch. Agreed that he'll be better than Lawson, too. Good for the Hoyas if he leaves, that's for sure.

I think Lawson is a better college player, but Flynn is the better pro prospect. Right now, Lawson is better because he has a better outside jumper. That's something that Flynn can improve much easier than other things.

Both of them are really good. I also think Kalin Lucas is really good too. Flynn I think will make a very good pro. DJ Augustin seems to be having a pretty good year this year, and while I think he's a superior shooter than Flynn, Flynn is noticeably stronger. I think he'll still be able to get to the spots he wants on the court, and he seemed to be a better playmaker as the year went on (this is all anecdotal, I didn't watch Cuse that much).
If he goes, that team is still strong, but I think struggles a lot more. Devo is not a PG, but he'd be forced to play it. That'll lead to a lot more turnovers, a lot less smooth of an offense, and Devo would not get the scoring opportunities he does playing off Flynn. All in all, I really hope Flynn goes.

I don't know if he's "better" than Lawson. Lawson really made UNC go, but he was surrounded by so much talent that it's hard to compare. Devendork and Rautins are not exactly Danny Green, Wayne Ellington and Tyler "Heirs"brough.
I think they will both be very good NBA players for quite a while.

With guys like Flynn, Lawson, even Darren Collison at UCLA (who is not nearly as good as he was expected to be after his soph year) joining guys like Augustin and Aaron Brooks in the NBA, do you think we'll see a return of small, super quick PGs in the NBA that can drive and dish?
It seems like the NBA has favored the 6'3" or 6'4" big PGs like Derrick Rose, Deron Williams, etc., but those guys are somewhat rare, at least with ready-made handles and passing ability (note OKC trying to make Westbrook a PG), but it seems for at least a decade the NBA has erred on the side of trying to develop those guys into PGs, instead of taking the small, super quick PGs that set-up their guys from the drive and dish. I think it would be fun to see more of that mix cuz the little quickies can create havoc. Also would be great to see them succeed to give Chris Wright a better shot at the NBA, as they'd be more willing to take the chance.

Hope he stays. Good for the Big East. Will be even better after 1 or 2 more years. Don't agree and understand the thought that we (Hoyas) are better due to attrition. We are better when we can beat opposition with their best. Go Hoyas.

I hope all Syracuse Scholarship players leave and Magoo is left with twelve walk-ons (who'll still probably get money from alums)...

Flynn will be a very good pro....he has the ability to get from point a to point b off the dribble anytime he wants. There aren't that many players out there with that ability. Lawson doesn't have that ability, nor does he have flynn's athleticism. Plus, Lawson's jumpshot will be a problem in the league. He doesn't jump, and his release point starts at his chest. With his 5-11 stature, he's going to get that blocked an awful lot. Flynn jumps when he shoots, and he can pull up from midrange. He's just a better pro prospect than lawson is, and I don't think its all that close

Not to mention the superior athleticism Flynn possesses over Lawson and that will lead to a Flynn being a better finisher at the rim.

On a similar thread, what do you think the odds are of Devendorf getting smacked around (literally and figuratively) in Europe next season?
Personally, I hope he winds up in a cold, dark corner of the Ukraine.
