Yeah, last I read was that Cera was holding out for more money...punk.
I sometimes think that movie versions of TV shows are a bit lacking...often just a long version of a not particularly great episode. But, I feel like the Bluths were taken from us too soon, so I'd be happy with a long version of a not particluarly great episode.

To be honest, they could make this movie without Michael Cera and they really wouldn't be losing all that much. Just as long as Steve Holt! is in it.

It boggles my mind how George Michael Bluth is the big hold out - and not Portia De Rossi, or Bateman, or Arnett, or David Cross.

Michael Cera should, if anything, be doing the movie for free as a gesture of gratitude. He's been able to create a career playing George Michael in other movies.

That's one reason why he was holding out. He was afraid that he would be pigeon-holed into playing the same character for the rest of his career. Yes, he's taken such meaty against-type adult roles such as that-nerd-kid-in-Superbad and that-nerd-kid-in-Nick-and-Nora since, it's no wonder he's hesitant to go back to a comedic role as a nerdy kid in love with his cousin.

I agree. I definitely thought it was a bs line of reasoning as well, and only used to cover up the fact that he wanted more $$$ EDIT: You also forgot to mention that-nerd-kid-in-Juno

I maintain the funniest thing I've ever seen on tv was the scene where the intervention they were going to hold for their mother turned into the best party the Bluth's had had in years.

Michael Cera of the 2000's = John Cusack of the 1980's

I kinda' think that's an insult to John Cusack.
He played a one dimensional dork (Sixteen Candles, Class); a dork who turns out not to be a dork at all because he can race cars, play saxaphone and ski really well (Better Off Dead); a dork who thinks he's cool but ends up falling in love with an even bigger dork (The Sure Thing); a baseball dork (Eight Men Out); a dead dork (Stand By Me); and a dork who, for some reason, everyone thinks is the coolest future kickboxer in the world (Say Anything).
Michael Cera could only dream of that kind of range.
