I think Davis is closer to 7'. Didn't show me much at Cap Classic. Has length and shot blocking, which hoyas don't have much of. I'm hearing Williams athleticism may border on the freaky side. Good comparison RDF to junior in that his offense is developing but scrap, D, and hops are similar.

graeagle anyone heard anything more about the kids grades recently?....i seem to remember a while back someone saying that it was looking more and more like he would qualify and that if he did we would show strong interest. Seems to me if we are making a push for him that his grades must be getting sorted out.....anyone know anything more? well, one of my sources from memphis still thinks it will be tough for him to qualify at memphis.....and he said Gtown is like "harvard" compared to memphis ;D i do know the kid has been working on it and has made some strides but could just be a sell job by his coach. hoping for the best b/c i think this team has really missed patrick--and this kid is alot like patrick.

Georgetown has always had interest in Latavious--and vice versa--it has just been monitoring his grade situation--which is improving to qualify for NCAA standards--and he has a lot better chance of making it then what was thought prior to season--but it's still going to be a situation worth following.
As for his game--he's like a PE JR/Jerome Williams type--which this team desperately needs--only he has more offensive potential.

Is he legit. Can anyone tell me. I am not sold on rivals rankings especially after Mullens was named #1!

Not to add another question to the three posted right above this (well, actually I am), but anyone have a clue as to when a decision or at least something more definitive may be known?

Patrick Ewing Jr./Jerome Williams type? Just those two names put a smile on my face. LOVED JYD and obviously Pat as well.

Amazes me how Darius remains on NBA rosters. No game outside of a dunk. Shoulda went to SJU.

Brandon Bass Elite travel team coach Scooter Owens says Georgetown is making a heavy push for five-star Latavious Williams of Humble (Texas) Christian Life Center.
In fact, the Hoyas are making a strong run against Memphis for the top spot on Williams' school list, and the Hoyas have passed Baylor. Bears coach Scott Drew watched Williams play last week.
Georgetown is in jeopardy of losing both Greg Monroe and DaJuan Summers to the NBA draft. Georgetown only has one prospect signed in the 2009 class, four-star small forward Hollis Thompson.
Georgetown is also involved with Roscoe Davis, who is attending Laurinburg (N.C.) Prep after failing to qualify academically to play for West Virginia this year. Word has it that Davis' academic situation is more questionable than Williams'.

when would know if he will qualify? is this waiting on SAT qualifying or waiting on grades qualifying? If it's grades I would assume we would have to wait for the end of the spring semester?

when would know if he will qualify? is this waiting on SAT qualifying or waiting on grades qualifying? If it's grades I would assume we would have to wait for the end of the spring semester? Before we get TOO excited, he has not yet committed to GU! He is still considering several schools -- including MEMPHIS. Also, I don't believe anyone knows where he stands with academics right now, just that it has been a challenge for him in the past. It is said that is why he is still available....but we believe he has made serious progress or it is unlikely he would be taking an "official visit" to GU. Given the caveats above, JT3 must have made a strong impression AND believe we have a serious shot AND believe he has a good chance to qualify, or it is unlikely this Official Visit trip would be taking place. So -- let's hope for the best and see if the Students can extend him a warm welcome!

Of course we can't get TOO excited....(but let me get a LITTLE excited can't I? ) I know we aren't a lock by any means but the fact that we are high on his short list is a great thing. There aren't many studs out there left for next year. Hoya Blue...get on some signs for Mr. Williams!
