This was bound to happen. If Summers plays like he has been so far, he may be gone. Regardless, he will definitly test the waters. I would be mildly surprised if Monroe left, but he will project fairly high in a weak draft, as is the case this year.
But as someone else said, if Summers and Monroe return, I think we return to the Final Four and win the title. We'll be that good, and expereinced at every position, with additional depth. That could be a huge selling point for both of those guys. It will be hard to sweat it out in April, May and June though.

Aren't we only getting one recruit next season? And losing Sapp? I wouldn't say we'd have any additional depth. More experience though for sure, with hopefully Henry and Vaughn playing a bigger role.

Greg and DaJuan would be LUCKY to be lottery picks after 6 years of college much less a measly 4. Currently, they're awful and neither can hold Scottie Reynolds' jock. If there were EVER 2 guys who NEEDED all 4 years at a university, it's DaJuan and Greg.
Oh... Austin and Chris? See above.

We can wonder and speculate all we want, but there's still a lot of basketball to play. Greg might go out and look bad against Thabeet, Blair, and Harangody, and all the talk will go down. He might jump anyways. Or he might go out, be BE ROY, take us deep in the tourney, and want to come back. I doubt the players do to much thinking about it until the season's over and they can actually figure out where they stand.
If both of them jump, yeah it would suck. We'd have a rough year next year. But if JTIII could point to 5 players being drafted in 3 years, I'm sure that would give us a nice little bump in his recruiting pitches.

Plus, tv adds 6 inches. I hear Greg is only 6'5" and DaJuan is only 6'3". The NBA would certainly want them to finish growing. DaJuan's not quick for a guy that's 6'2". Now, if he were, say, 6'8", that would be a whole different story. But I don't project him being 6'8", ironically enough, until right after graduation.

Tas, you remember a couple weeks ago how everyone was talking about the fact that nothing we say here has any effect on the program. Yeah, don't try to trick the players.

It also says he'd be playing with Roy in Indiana And now I'm once again thinking about how freaking good we would have been last year with Jeff playing power forward. Undefeated? I say yes. Fixed.

I prefer thinking in impossible hypotheticals like Greg playing PF last year (or, alternatively, Roy having redshirted so he could play this year) rather than get all bitter about the way Jeff went out.

I have a line to players on the team, and from what information I have gotten, I can say that Summers is a virtual lock to leave after this season for the NBA.
Monroe had stated before the season that he wanted to stay all four years at Gtown. Take that statement for what its worth, when you are a lock to be a lottery pick.

I think we really should consider a spring signing. If Summers and/or Monroe, not to mention Wright (I think he'll get some attention down the stretch) leave early, we are going to be thin. There has to be a diamond in the rough out there. Hey Russel Westbrook went from spring signing to #4 pick in the draft after his sophomore year, so we should look for a similar player who developed late in his high school career

That's funny. I put up a post a couple weeks ago asking about the over-under for Greg Monroe staying on past his frosh year, and the admin folks closed the post down because it fell under the realm of "speculation."
Go figure... :-)

On the plus side, if Monroe and Summers AND maybe even Wright are getting NBA looks, we must have a VERY good season.

I was actually considering starting a "What If?" thread about Roy's redshirt to kill some time before the UConn game.

So if there's somebody there because they are a late bloomer or because their coach left (like what happened with Wright and NC State), I assume JT3 and the staff will be on them.

I really don't understand people's obsession with locking threads on this board, unless it turns into bickering back and forth between two posters. Is discussion about something we don't know that scary? Why can't we speculate if Greg is going to leave? Don't you think JTIII is doing the same thing? Let's not Galileo this message board.

It wasn't the speculation; it was the "inside info" that DaJuan is definitely leaving.
