Here's the issue. This poster tends to run up to the line whereas some of our former posters sped by and didn't look back. It would also help if people ignored his arguments, but that's easier said than done.
There is no requirement that any poster have ties to GU nor must follow a certain mindset; however, I understand the concern. A note will be sent to the poster this weekend to clear this up going forward.

As I think I made clear in my comment about Bill Ayers, I am not for banning anyone. (I suppose it is a question whether posting rights here constitute an "invitation" or not, but I say no).
I have no problem ignoring a certain poster. Sometimes I read what he says and respond, but a lot of times, I just skip right past (it would help if we could get that "Ignore" button fixed though). I'm not sure why so many others have trouble with that.
I trust the mods to delete or edit anything offensive that he posts.
Or, perhaps I can make my point more clearly by using the famous words of master songwriter Paul Anka:
To stop a poster 1-2-3, Here's a fresh new way that's trouble-free, It's got Paul Anka's guarantee... Guarantee void in Tennessee. Just don't look! Just don't look! Just don't look! Just don't look! Just don't look! Just don't look!

I don't think the guy should be banned. I don't know why he continues to post on here, and I think some of his stuff serves no purpose, but that's insufficient to ban him. If you really dislike his posts that much, there's a reason the boards have an "ignore" feature. Use it.

If you really dislike his posts that much, there's a reason the boards have an "ignore" feature. Use it. Doesn't work. I've clicked on a certain poster's name, hit the "Click to Ignore" button, and this poster's garbage still shows up. And trust me... if I could figure out another way to ignore Cambridge, I would. OOPS!! Yeah, that ignore button working would be a great help, but I'd still have to read thread titles like "Obama born on Jupiter", "Liberals Worship Satan", and "Florida a Decent School". Perhaps admin could ban from HiFi from starting threads after fixing the ignore button?

Please Lord don't ban him. When I'm feeling idiotic, worthlerss, underappreciated or in any way inferior, he's proof positive that I'm not the worst.

I'm not going to interrupt your little love-fest. I am going to make one short statement defending my position on what has seemingly starter this firestorm to begin with. I posted links from who had questions concerning Obama's birth certificate. I stated at the very front, that if there was any truth to it, that I would be shocked if it wasn't front page news but it wasn't. However, given that it seems so easy to debunk, why hadn't it?
I had been to the snopes link that Cam gave. It didn't really give answers, but rather opinionated possibilities. However I had not seen the factcheck link. I viewed it and it answered any and all questions satisfactorily. As far as I am concerned, the issue is closed.
On the grander scale however, some of you have this idea that even having such questions is unthinkable and suggest they are even unique to me. The factcheck link itself proved the validity of the questions themselves, even while disproving the negative allegations and innuendo. That's fine by me. Done deal. But to those of you who think that it was totally unreasonable to even consider such questions, just go read the fact check link. It points out many "apparent" inconsistencies and then explains them all. Any sane or logical person would admit that much. My main complaint is with those of you who seemingly take offense at even asking such questions. Your complaints however, seem to hinge on my merely being here.
This case is closed, but I felt compelled to state my piece, so to speak.

My problem with hifi is that at the rate he is going he is going to have more posts than I have soon. How would that look? He must have less of a life than I do. After he passes me, he will probably take aim at lic and SF.

I'm sorry, but simply because you can't do your own research or put any sort of critical thinking skills on display does not excuse you from posting such rubbish. This board isn't a blank canvas that you can simply dump your unrefined thoughts on. If you want that, start a blog.

This board isn't a blank canvas that you can simply dump your unrefined thoughts on. If you want that, start a blog. Just don't look? I had always heard that a certain HT poster has thousands of posts on every message board of every team that one of the Florida schools has ever played.... but apparently it's just not true. In reality, he's banned from the OSU boards (and I don't think anyone here would want us to join OSU's company on any subject, ever) and is an idle or otherwise inactive poster on several others. We are this man's life. We give meaning to his days. We are possibly his sole reason for existence. As a quasi-prolife individual, I must confess that I have seriously moral qualms when I envision the consequences of excommunicating him from the HoyaTalk community. As a professional devil's advocate though, I've got to caution against blocking him from starting new threads, even though that would appear to be a reasonable compromise. Would you prefer that he hijack threads of substance and relevancy that have been started by others? As Boz suggested, if he starts a thread, just don't look....

rossly, I am banned from Bucknuts.com as were ALL Gator fans after the Football Title game in Glendale. I'm sure that some are there now, but they banned all of the "new Gators" that joined in the timeframe prior to the BCS game.
Other than that, I have been banned at Canestime -- the UM Hurricanes site. I didn't really do anything to deserve it, but I kind of expected it going in. When you select "UMCanesBlow" as your name, you are certainly pushing the envelope from the start.
I post occassionally at WarChant (FSU), GoVols (Tennessee), CockyTalk (USCe), here and on many Gator boards as well as on ESPN.com. I did post on Hawaii's site last year as well, but that was primarily in response to June Jones and his silly ramblings about Colt Brennan and Florida's "system" QB -- Tim Tebow. I enjoy the layout of your board as well as the decent substantive discussions. For the most part, I enjoy the different characters here as well, brasky notwithstanding.

How inconsiderate of me. I promise to keep it down next time. On the one hand, that made me laugh. Well played. On the other... most vulgar post in HoyaTalk history?!? Wow. Graphic. I gladly accept the honor. I couldn't have done it without you.

I really dont get how riled up some of you get with ANYTHING hifi says. he does say some things that are useful than anything some posters put up. example: the great discussion started in thread about the music festival the Hifi had some sort of role in. i liked hearing about a seemingly great festival and then reading a discussion about some good music.
If you dont agree with him, or find him so annoying, just ignore his posts on you own. when it comes to politics, i disagree with probably all of you on everything (see the recent "the redistribution of wealth) thread as an example, but i dont feel the need to jump down everyones throats everytime somebody says things that i disagree with, as many of you do with hifi.
the reality is, thread that hifi start with hifi stating something many of you dont want to hear about and so every subsequent post is about how horrible hifi is. but even if the thread is about some ridiculously rumor unsubstantiated rumor, who is being more of a troll: the person who is a worst a little annoying, or the poster who is constantly following around a poster just to sh!t on them?
some times i get the feeling hifi could start a thread the say "saw the new james bond movie last night and though it was pretty good, anyone else see it?" and then the rest of the thread would be people ragging on him for various stupid, childish reasons.
you guys need to lighten up. maybe i dont have as much direct experience with hifi as i dont post in the b&g or pro sports board that much, but when i do and hifi (or anyone else) is say stuff i dont want to read, i just skip it. Its not that hard.
