Trey Parker. Matt Stone. Geniuses. Boom, baby! Disagree. Great for them that they produced an episode overnight and included the speeches, parties, etc. Not great for them that the episode wasn't funny. We get it. They were on a heist.

I didnt see the episode, but i will say that this season has SUCKED so far (this season meaning this half of season 12). All of season 12 has been just ok. They've lost a lot of the smartness that they used to have.

I thought the obama and mccain supporters reactions were hilarious and spot on. The heist part wasn't funny but i laughed at the first bit.

They've lost a lot of the smartness that they used to have. The last three episodes have been garbage (and the opener was half funny) but the Wendy vs Cartman episode was solid. Its not that hard to pick out the good South Park episodes from the bad, all you have to do is find the ones where the core Kyle/Stan/Cartman and Kenny (or Butters) group are most featured

OK, you're all idiots. ;D
But seriously, I can't believe what I am hearing about the "Pandemic" episodes. Those were hilarious.
First of all, Randy Marsh is perhaps the funniest character that show has going for it right now. He has been for some time. Other than Butters, of course.
Second, sure, it was primarily just a movie parody, we all get that, but for the most part, the plots of South Park episodes are really not all that central to how funny/not funny the show is. I think the last time the show had a PLOT that was really interesting was when Cartman made Scott Tennerman eat his parents.
(Though Imaginationland was masterful, I'll grant that).
The Craig portion of those episodes, and the Randy Marsh camera scenes were plain and simple laugh out loud funny.
The same goes for last night. Who cares that Obama & McCain were planning a heist. It doesn't matter. And the Ocean's 11 motif was just background. It was all about the town and the townspeople. If you couldn't laugh at that, you were either one of those people they were making fun of, or you have no sense of humor.
(Speaking of which, why was Mr./Mrs./Mr. Garrison a McCain supporter?)
Now. You want to talk about a show that has fallen off a cliff, well that's easy. It pains me to the core to say it, but that show airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
Don't get me started on animated shows. The election is over and I need something to fight about. And I know a lot more about these shows than I know about politics, that's for sure. ;D

I agree with Boz. The episode was genius. The whole Ocean 11's thing was a non subtle jab at saying it doesn't matter who we elect, they are both probably criminals or have some dirty secrets anyways. You take that versus the supporters who either think everything is going to change or the world is going to end depending on the outcome of the election.
Also as someone who has worked in TV production before, getting that episode out in less then 10 hours is amazing.

The last three episodes have been garbage (and the opener was half funny) but the Wendy vs Cartman episode was solid. The Wendy vs Cartman episode didn't even have a sub-plot... it was a single-joke episode that really had nothing else going for it. I really hope the "half funny" part of the opener was the "terrible thing that the kids witnessed this summer." The Chinese invasion plotline was utterly without merit.

You don't need a subplot when you can make an entire episode about Cartman's insecurity and make boob jokes. And yes the graphic rape scenes were the funny part of that episode I appreciate how fast they produced this episode but if you want to see them at their political best, watch the one about pro-war and anti-war supporters (which unfortunately has been taken down from southparkzone)

Boz, Ill agree with you that Randy Marsh IS one of the funniest characters and i thought his parts were really funny, i just thought the rest got beaten to death. All these episodes seem to be about how everybody is stupid and it doesnt matter what you do because were all screwed, like Drums said. And thats because Matt and Trey are big libertarians, and that was all fine and good until recently where most of the episodes are poorly thought out metaphors for the same crappy government. I want the crab people back!
Im not trying to start an argument about a cartoon, that would be pretty petty.
That show thats on Fox at 8 does really really suck, but i have never been a fan. There getting rid of my king of the hill so i doubt ill be watching fox for anything but football, reruns of the simpsons, and reruns of seinfeld.

it was a re-creation of bando and c2c on U street...
Nearly anything with Randy Marsh is hilarious in my book...his "courics" episode, and the one where South Park lost the Internet, are recent favorites...and anyone that didn't think the raping Indy episode was hilarious, needs a sense of humor check or doesn't appreaciate the IJ franchise.

I appreciate how fast they produced this episode but if you want to see them at their political best, watch the one about pro-war and anti-war supporters (which unfortunately has been taken down from southparkzone) Use southparkstudios.com instead-"A Little Bit Country" appears to be Season 7, Episode 4. www.southparkstudios.com/episodes/

Randy continues to prove his awesomeness, the heist part was ok and ike being a mccain support was a nice little bit that has been missing from some episodes.
