I think GTA IV is overrated. Got very bored with it very fast.
I'm picking up GoW2 this weekend & will compare, but I'm sure it will be better.
Too bad Bioshock 2 is a year away. They could probably fight it out for best sequel.

Gears of War 2 is better than expected. Game of the Year potential (at the very least, GTA IV has some competition). I'm not much of a gamer, but I think that was the game that a good friend of mine was talking about last night. If so, then he was on the way down to Rhino to get it as soon as it was released.

One last (hopefully) comment on this: How about this: "civil union" -- a public declaration of certain relationship between two persons "marriage" -- a civil union of one member of each sex General societal recognitions are of "civil unions." "Religious" recognitions can be of either civil unions in general or of marriages exclusively. No. Why not? Tables wrote: Actually, what I want is for opponents of gay marriage to just come out and say why they oppose it -- "because I find the idea of two men or two women to be unacceptable." Let's put the cards on the table and then we can have a real discussion. All this hemming and hawing over "civil unions" versus "marriage" is masking what is really at issue.
Absolutely not. I have no problem accepting homosexual relationships. I have zero interest in one personally, but no problem accepting them for others. I really think this focusing on one word is pointless and as I said before, counterproductive.

The whole point is even if they're logistically the same if you call them something different they're not equal. It's not the people arguing for gay marriage who need to get over the semantics issue it's the people opposing it. If you're going to give them something that's ostensibly the same what's the big deal with just calling it the same thing too?

Is it weird that I think I like San Andreas better than GTAIV? I think the music is a huge part of that.

I liked the beginning of San Andreas more than IV. But it kind of went all over the place, and not in a good way.

Anyone played Saints Row 2 or Fallout 3 yet? I'm trying to choose my next buy.

Anyone else play Braid? That might be my favorite game this year. Completely different and really short, but still pretty cool.

Whatever, I think GTA IV was freakin' genius. Liberty City redux was probably the coolest city yet, Niko is a sweet character, the story was fun, I liked how the user could essentially choose which ending to take... in all, an amazing game. But Gears of War 2 might be game of the year... IV was the first GTA game I had ever played (yes, I was maybe one of only 10 people in the world that primarily owned a Gamecube so I didn't play III VC or SA), and I really enjoyed it. The bank mission, which was a nod to Heat, was absolutely amazing. I had a problem with the ending, though. I played through one ending and read what happened online with the other one (I'm trying to be as vague as possible to avoid spoilers). As far as the story goes, the finale left by one ending left much to be desired. As far as Gears 2 goes, I have yet to play it because my Xbox red ring'd on me. I enjoyed the first one a lot though, more than I did any of the Halo games. Hopefully this one is just as good.
