Anyone know -- is the Hoop Club or the local alumni group planning any get-togethers at Disney World for the Old Spice Classic? A little over a month away, and that trip is almost all I can think of. Any intelligence would be apprecated.

According to Hoop Club Prez Al Bozzo, there will be a significant Hoop Club presence.

To add a little more, my understanding is that the Hoyas Unlimited folks would like to do multiple events during the long weekend, they just hadn't nailed down the where/when. Don't want to elaborate b/c it's been a few weeks since I've heard any updates...there are broad ideas for types of events, but I'm not sure of any specifics.
One complicating factor is that OSC fans are now at two different "official" hotels (Coronado Springs and Gaylord Palms). Not to mention those not staying at the official places--Orlando/Lake Buena Vista can be a big place, and the WWoS is all the way down in the bottom corner of it.
Significant FLHoya family as well.

The Hoya will be in Orlando as well and interested in taking off the journalist hat and putting on the fan hat with the HHC.

Hey,
ALl gamewatches are still at the Village Pourhouse on 11th Street and 3rd Avenue. Also, a new Pourhouse opened at 109 and Amsterdam Ave on the Upper West Side, so there will also be gamewatches there for anyone who that might be easier for.

Thanks.
I'll be in NYC too and looking forward to meeting fellow posters at the gamewatches. For me, it's not a question of which is easier, but which is the official gamewatch pub, if there is one?

I'm hoping to go to the game that day with wife and then-10 month old, but we'll be having dinner with some of my wife's friends in Orlando. Hope to meet up with everybody from the board going to the games, though! From the HHC email this week: Who is planning to attend?

I am a local down here in Orlando and I will be attending the games. If anyone needs any suggestions (hotel, restaurant, bars, etc), let me know.
I will be spending all of my time post-game at Miller's Alehouse on John Young Parkway, about 15-20 minutes from WWoS.

Does the Milk House (the basketball arena) serve beer? 2. Does the restaurant at the Wide World of Sports complex -- the All Star Cafe or something -- serve beer?

By the way, I didn't realize it until just now, but the Milk House is tiny. Only seats 5,000.

PSA: for those traveling in by air, Southwest (as of yesterday) had dropped prices on the flights I had from Providence, enabling me to rebook them and save a little over $500. Also, for those looking to rent cars, check these links for some pretty good discounts: www.mousesavers.com/alamo.htmlwww.carrentalsavers.com/

Does the Milk House (the basketball arena) serve beer? 2. Does the restaurant at the Wide World of Sports complex -- the All Star Cafe or something -- serve beer? I havent been to the Milk House in several years. From what I remember, they have very limited refreshment options. Very doubtful on the beer. But it would be a pleasant surprise if they opened up some of their portable bar carts for this special event. The All Star Cafe closed and has been replaced by the Wide World of Sports Cafe. I havent been there since they changed it. But from what I hear, it is cafeteria style dining. So expect food that you would see in the parks. At least in the parks (except Magic Kingdom) you can purchase beer at these types of establishments. Beer costs $4.50 - $5.50 for the most part throughout Disney World. Hope my limited knowledge of WWoS helped a little.

I went to OSC last year and couldn't find anything to drink there, but brought some stuff to have a light tailgate in the parking lot. Plenty of liquor stores outside the complex.
