So let me get this straight? This -- I sincerely hope not -- is what has led to this little round of school girl bitchiness?
Time for some to get back on their meds. Meow.

I am utterly and completely lost.
Is this or is this not a thread about the outstanding David Naughton movie, 'Midnight Madness'?
I don't know that I'd call it an "important" movie, not in the 'Do The Right Thing' or 'Saving Private Ryan' sense, but it's still one of Michael J. Fox's best performances.
;D

Did you really just put "Do The Right Thing" and "Saving Private Ryan" in the same sense as an important movie?

My team of writers is on vacation. I did the best I could.

Very surprising for someone who usually has some perspective. He was almost acting like Georgetown is a basketball school. Ah, very surprising. And didn't I read on this board he was an employee of the University too?

I think if you asked our seniors, they would welcome every bit of criticism they faced after the Davidson loss. You are doing them more a disservice by assuming that after four years of playing here, they couldn't be held accountable for a loss just because they were seniors.
I don't want to weigh in on the other stuff now, but I have no problem with that succinct and accurate response to Davidson.

Well, we left the recruiting angle behind a page ago, but I think we've answered the "question" in a roundabout way.
The importance of Midnight Madness 2009 will be...
...turning the page on the Davidson loss.

Hmmmm. Yes, i guess that is a factually correct headline and there is no doubt the loss was a disappointment. no doubt. but one would not expect that headline on the home team's fan website. And for the record last season was an overall success. It was a great season. I enjoyed it immensely, and i expect this season to be great as well. We are back. Let's focus on the positives.

Did you really just put "Do The Right Thing" and "Saving Private Ryan" in the same sense as an important movie? "Do the Right Thing" is a better film. And its one of the few only films in American history that actually tries to seriously tackle the tough subject of race relations. "Saving Private Ryan" is a good film but also predictable and cliche. Outside of its gutwrenching opening twenty minutes everything else in the movie is a repeat of dozens of WW2 flicks. Again, its well done but we have seen it a hundred times before. Of course this thread contines to spiral out of control and go off track.

Back to the title of this thread, GU's MM may be a home grown special that has its own personal appeal, maybe it looks a little small and local compared to, say, Indiana or Kentucky.
But, whatever it is, it has been very effective in helping persuade kids to commit. So lets look for a great turnout of recruits once again. And CURRENT STUDENTS -- Go Out and give it your best effort once again..... you guys are playing an important role and helping!

Yep, MCI. "Do The Right Thing" clocked in at a rather low 96 on AFI's Top 100 Movies (to "Saving"'s 71), but I'm glad it made it period.

I may have found something we can agree on.
Georgetown was not a basketball school when Esherick was the Head Coach. Discuss.
