Exploding trees, was it? Instead my head is exploding, as the orange gob in the White House denies emergency aid to California. Sticking the shiv in deeper. Such a vindictive child. Such a failed (p)residency. Never again a republican president. The country can’t abide it. Humankind can’t survive it.

Such a failed (p)residency. Never again a republican president. The country can’t abide it. Humankind can’t survive it. Morally repugnant GOPers were against aid before they were for it! The day began with news that the Trump administration had refused to grant California an emergency declaration that would make hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding available for areas devastated by the Creek Fire and five others. Federal officials said the most recent application did not meet the criteria for federal relief. But President Trump reversed the decision a few hours later after a direct appeal from Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in a midday phone call. The declaration was approved, the hand-wringing over. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/10/16/trump-rejects-california-disaster-wildfires/

He manages to look terrible to both sides and takes two lossses.

If this is true, I'm confident we'll have major climate change legislation pass this year. Link

A serious question: the planet is warming, but what proof exists saying it is mostly caused by fossil fuels?

Pope Francis: “We know that technology based on the use of highly polluting fossil fuels — especially coal, but also oil and, to a lesser degree, gas — needs to be progressively replaced without delay,” wrote Pope Francis in Laudato Si’. www.livekindly.co/vatican-fossil-fuel-investments/It’s time for the world to undergo an energy transition, “a gradual replacement but without delay, of fossil fuels with clean energy sources,” Pope Francis said. All people and organizations can lead such a transition by divesting from fossil fuel companies, “those companies that do not meet the parameters of integral ecology,” while investing in companies that place “at the center of their activities, sustainability, social justice, and the promotion of the common good.” catholicclimatemovement.global/in-ted-countdown-pope-francis-calls-for-divestment-from-fossil-fuels/NASA: On Earth, human activities are changing the natural greenhouse. Over the last century the burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil has increased the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2). This happens because the coal or oil burning process combines carbon with oxygen in the air to make CO2. To a lesser extent, the clearing of land for agriculture, industry, and other human activities has increased concentrations of greenhouse gases. climate.nasa.gov/causesUnion of Concerned Scientists: The primary cause of global warming is human activity that releases carbon into the atmosphere, most significantly the burning of fossil fuels to drive cars, generate electricity, and operate our homes and businesses. www.ucsusa.org/resources/global-warming-faq#:~:text=Global%20warming%20is%20caused%20primarily,be%20radiated%20out%20into%20space. MIT: In the late 1800s, humans started burning large amounts of fossil fuels – coal, oil and natural gas – for heat, to power machines, and to generate electricity. These fuels helped us make significant technological, social, and economic progress and elevated standards of living around the world. As we’ve burned more and more fossil fuels over two centuries, we have added large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other heat-trapping greenhouse gases to our atmosphere. climate.mit.edu/what-we-know-about-climate-changePope Francis, again: At the conclusion of a Vatican summit on the environment in 2015: “Human-induced climate change is a scientific reality, and its decisive mitigation is a moral and religious imperative for humanity. In this core moral space, the world’s religions play a very vital role.” www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/08/pope-francis-listen-to-the-cry-of-the-earth/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CListen%20to%20the%20cry%20of,unbalanced%20ecology%E2%80%9D%2D%20Pope%20Francis. Lindsey Graham: The Senate approved a resolution Wednesday that would undo an environmental rollback by President Donald Trump that relaxed requirements of a 2016 Obama administration rule targeting methane emissions from oil and gas drilling. The resolution was approved, 52-42. Three Republican senators — Susan Collins of Maine, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Rob Portman of Ohio — joined 49 Democrats to approve the measure, which only needed a simple majority under Senate rules. apnews.com/article/climate-change-environment-and-nature-business-government-and-politics-dd63f9c4e3ab2c0159282ea5b01b691b

It’s odd: Republicans see no proof when extensive proof exists and see absolute, undeniable proof when the only “evidence” is something some guy said on Facebook or when a conman ex-president tweets it. Well, I guess he doesn’t get to tweet it anymore.

A serious question: the planet is warming, but what proof exists saying it is mostly caused by fossil fuels? A serious question deserves another: who would you believe (i.e., what proof would you believe?)? Scientific proof, not opinions of popes or scientists or politicians or the media.

If scientists aren’t the ones offering scientific proof, who is? What are you even talking about? But you’ll believe Sydney Powell? She admitted no reasonable person could have read/heard what she said and believed her. It may be time for you to reassess how you come to your conclusions. Your process seems a bit off. Stop pretending you are interested in “proof”. You’ll just dismiss it as opinion.
