Buff, that was Gerald - and that was before Esh was fired/JT3 hired. You're only half right. It was Gerald, but it was definitely during JTIII's watch. As Gerald was a Senior/post eligibility, him being suspended from the team was not really an option. Sure, technically you're correct, as JT3 was hired on 4/20/04, and this incident happened on 5/6/04. I'm just not sure you can attribute that to JT3 at all - was he even on campus at that point? Doubtful, probably.

Doubtful, probably. I'm 100 percent positive he was on campus, and was the sheriff in charge of dealing with the incident. I would never blame JTIII for it (I wouldn't even blame Esherick, frankly)

The season was over. JTIII had no responsibility for Gerald's actions. I don't even know if he ever met with him. I suppose he could have done a debrief or met him in the gym, but Gerald was not ever going to play for Georgetown again.

You know, I have some pretty deep emotional scars from a couple of ex-girlfriends that aren't as painful as that link! Hear, hear Boz! I still credit the wake that pushyguyfanclub, our buddy Alex, and myself held for the program after the last homegame as the catalyst that led to the program's resurgence. From the ashes!! That, or just some serious liver damage and loss of dignity.

that was so depressing.... it just shows you how much JT3 has done, and how important a good coach is, not to on court stuff, but also to recruiting, player behavior etc. -m

"MCI Center lived up to its reputation as the "Friendliest Road Arena In The Big East", with Pitt cheers bellowing across the empty arena. " Wow.

"MCI Center lived up to its reputation as the "Friendliest Road Arena In The Big East", with Pitt cheers bellowing across the empty arena. " Wow. It's a total sea change. I love to recount the story of III's first year, when a Great American and myself were watching GU-Norfolk State. This Great American decided to heckle Spartan players shooting free throws. And we tried the "shot clock" countdown trick once or twice. It worked. There was no sound in the arena. Kim Frank very nicely let us use open courtside seats for the second half, where more heckling ensued.

If you look down a bit further you see the story of us losing to a St. Johns team with 4 scholarship players. Oh how far we've come in less than 4 years.
