Roddick played the latest "best he could play" and actually ended up with worse outcome then a year ago in Final where he won a set. Even after getting two walkovers as opponents quit and Federer has had a tough bracket for a top seed.
Federer is unreal. Just a true honor to get to watch him play.
Roddick with his "tough guy" persona since being teamed with Connors tried to stare Roger down and then Andre Agassi mentioned in the booth that might not have been the best idea, and the results were another loss to Federer-and this time in straight sets and Roger destroyed him in the 3rd after 2 well played Tie breaks to open the match. I can't stand Roddick-and the hype that accompanies him--EVERY year it's "Andy's playing the best I've ever seen....." and while I'd say this was the best I've seen him play against Federer--he should've had high quality tennis in him--he'd only had to play 2 full matches out of 4 scheduled while Federer had been pushed by Isner's big serve in 3rd and Round 4 opponent who had 2 great opening sets--and actually won the 1st Set against him. Good riddance to Andy and can't wait for the next round of hype this time a year from now.

I'd probably agree with you and be worked up about the hype not matching the performance, but it is, um, tennis.

But yeah, that was a pretty awesome match. I don't think I have ever seen a player hold serve for two sets and have a +25 differential and lose in three sets. Sorry Andy apologists, swiss guard forever. I'll also take Ana Ivanovic over Anna K and Maria, though that Szavay girl from yesterday was a tad compelling, though I can't quite put my finger on that one yet. Please, please, though, somebody get the Williams sister's off of my television screens. I can't believe I have to root for Justine again.

Speaking of the tennis ladies, am I the only one who thinks that Monica Seles is looking pretty damn good?
(Answer: probably)
I think it helps that she's off the court and doesn't have her face all scrunched up like she always did when playing. I don't know about this comeback she's planning being a very good idea, but she's looking great, that's for sure.
Sure, she's older than all those young Russian hotties, but that's OK.
