Plus, to add to Giga's point, it's a pretty common aging pattern for a player to add power as they get older. They generally add power and plate discipline, lose speed and average/ability to make contact.
PED's might've given him an extra 50-100 home runs compared to his previous averages, but they also kept him healthy. I think Barry would have been retired by now if he had bulked up naturally without PED's. He might still be playing had he gone the Steve Finley route.
