Anyone, anyone? I'll get the ball rolling, as I count down the minutes to the 7:30 tip...
Hoyas 76 NJ State 61
Hoyas frustrate RU's guards by using the length of D.J. and Ramell along with a rotation of Wallace and Cook at the point. High scorer for G'town is Brandon, who uses smart shot selection, and shoots 8-11 (2-3 from 3 pt range) for a 19 point game.

I agree with HoyaPlaya. I think we all have a lot more to be optimistic about in this BE season.
GU - 72 RU - 63

Hoyas 64, Rutgers 53
Hoyas will start either the first or second half hot, the other cool. And that will be determined largely by 3pt shooting %.

Should be a comfortable win for Hoyas (famous last words). Rutgers lost to both Princeton and Air Force badly. Their 2-2-1 full court press is little more than an annoyance. The packed-in 2-3 zone doesn't create any turnovers.

I can't wait to see what Wallace, Cook and Co will shoot over a packed in zone...37%, 40%, 50%, 60%? Gulp. Let's just hope the shots fall...

I don't know if I expect a loss, but I'm definitely not in the "sure thing" camp.
We are erratic. We lost to Temple and Oral Roberts by a massive amount. We shouldn't lose this game (in the "there's a greater than 50% we win" sense), but would anyone be shocked?

I predict Ashanti scores 26 points in a 9 point Hoya win, 75-66.

I don't know what four things could come, but I think I get where KGHoya is coming from. This team makes games exciting, some I wish we just won handily (NSU).

SF, i wouldn't be shocked by any loss this year, but Rutgers doesn't have the advantage on the boards that Oral Roberts and Temple did. I think this is one of the more favorable matchups for us in league play (Rutgers is also not a good rebounding team), and they also play poorly on the road, in general.
But no, I certainly wouldn't be shocked by a loss. It's a game we SHOULD win though, and it's about time we got to the business of winning those on a regular basis. Let's start tonight!

While I would be extremely disappointed if we were to lose tonight to Rutgers (at home nonetheless, with the students back in town, etc.), even permanent residents of MEGAFANLAND must learn to temper their expectations and not start getting ahead of themselves with tourney talk and such.
Given that we are a young team with a new coach, despite getting off to a better-than-expected start, we will still have off nights and be prone to inconsistency. A loss to Villanova on the road, despite how painful (especially on the 20th celebration of their fluke victory over us), would not be surprising, but a loss at home to Rutgers is the kind of loss we cannot afford if we really have hopes of being the surprise team of the BE.
I don't mind two steps forward, one step backward, but let's treat the UConn game as the step backward, and not rejoice in only losing by 7 at home to a team that despite overwhelming talent, is not performing up to the hype (and is nowhere near the level of Illinois at this point in the season).
WAIT... did someone kidnap MEGAFAN?
Scratch that! I predict that we actually don't play down to the level of competition tonight, and that with a better than expected crowd (fuelled by a great student section and a huge HoyaChat turnout), we clobber Rutgers. Expect big games from our CA tandem (Bowman and Cook), another stellar performance from our soon-to-be-crowned BE Rookie of the Year, and some real offensive production and huge blocks from Roy (Roy, Roy, Roy...)
Top that off with great outside shooting by JW and DJ, and a surprise Ross sighting, who demonstrates that he has recovered from the mysterious injury bug that got him in Hawaii, and is ready to put up double digits off the bench. Finally, just like the cherry and nuts sprinkled on top of the chocolate fudge and whipped cream on a sundae, Ray Reed will come out and score from all over the court, and we will outrebound Rutgers with none other than Guibunda leading the way, grabbing 12 boards in 6 1/2 minutes of garbage time.
OK - that's more like it. Never say die. Hoyas forever. Join me on a voyage. You may not get TV coverage over the next couple of games, you may not get tix to the @nova game, you may have tix but get your bus trip cancelled or have your car break down, but no matter, for no walls or bars can keep your mind and imagination from taking off on a wonderful trip down the blue/grey bricked road to MEGAFANLAND...
RUTGERS 59 GEORGETOWN 83
LET'S GO HOYAS!!! BEAT RUTGERS!
