I've wasted (?) the last hour watching clips of the Flight of the Conchords. I watched my first episode last night and I've added it to my season passes on Tivo. The show is hilarious.

I meant to start a thread on the same topic after the first show. Totally hilarious, and so different from anything else out there. The lyrics are classic too: Then on our next date Well, you could bring your roommate I don''t know if Stu is keen to But if you want we could double-team youwww.hbo.com/conchords/img/episode/lyrics_ep4_yoko.pdfMy wife and I can't decide who is funnier, Bret or Jemaine. Although, Murray is probably the funniest of all. Will be interesting to see if has staying power or if it gets a bit redundant...

There’s people on the street getting diseases from monkeys Yeah, that’s what I said - they’re getting diseases from monkeys Now there’s junkies with monkey disease Who’s touching these monkeys, please Leave these poor sick monkeys alone They’ve got problems enough as it is.
Funniest show since Arrested Development went off the air. Totally cancels out the obnoxious crapiness of John from Cincinnati.

Funniest show since Arrested Development went off the air. Totally cancels out the obnoxious crapiness of John from Cincinnati. Funny you bring that up, nychoya, as Arrested Development currently takes up the most space on my DVR. Flight of the Conchords doesn't have the quantity to take up much space--yet (as Jemaine might say)--but someday it might compete for equal time on the DVR. As I am but a humble Oakland muffler-shop frequenter, I'm pretty into the rap (if you don't like it please provide constructive criticism): My rhymes and records they don't get played, because my records and rhymes they don't get made. When you rap like me you don't get paid; When you roll like me you don't get laid.

This is pretty much my favorite show right now. There's also a wealth of links on YouTube to their live shows and TV appearances. I'm psyched because "Business Time" is on next week's show.

Ok, you guys can hate on me. I'm still trying to give it a chance, but thinking of giving up on the show - I just don't think its that funny.

Stan Verrett just used my sig quote on Sportscenter, "as Jemaine would say," in reference to a clip of an argument with and umpire. As to why I am watching the end of Sportscenter on a day on which no US sports of consequence were played, well, it still took until 2 minutes ago to get highlights of U-20 World Cup. On to the round of 8 for the good old USA. Freddy Adu may have a future in this game yet.

Love the show, but the title of funniest show on TV since Arrested Development went off the air is reserved for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Spetember's such a long way off though. I want it nowwwww. No real debates here, but now it isn't coming until September? Last I saw was late July. And when are they coming out with DVD's? I had it all saved on DVR but lost it when I moved. Could they at least show reruns, or is it getting in the way of 7,000 episodes of That 70's Show?

September is the latest news I heard. I thought it was July as well.
Actually the fact that they're NOT showing re-runs yet is pretty indicative that it will be delayed until September. They'll re-run every episode leading up to the new season, so it's safe to start counting down when you see those start to air.
All I know is that Joely Richardson is coming back to nip/tuck and that makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.

I'm waiting for HBO to start playing the Flight of the Conchords "One Night Stand" again. So good . . .

Any opinions on episode 5?
I thought it was still a step below the high in episode 3, though the music video of the song at the end was absolutely legendary--perhaps my favorite moment in the show so far. Murray was great, as usual, and I liked seeing the Australia-New Zealand rivalry brought up again. All in all, though, I'm happy to see the girlfriend arc go away.

Episode 5 was a bit of a letdown, but for me it was partly because I had already heard "Business Time," which is really funny, but less so on repetition. I do enjoy the portrayal of Aussies. And Murray is without question my favorite character now.
