This year was a very difficult one to get admitted to Georgetown. I believe it is the first since I have been interviewing (15-20 years) that I did not get one of my interviewees admitted. I was 0-4 (and 0-2 from the 3; JK). That includes at least one student, who scored 1520 on her SATs (including 800 in math) and attends the top private school in Nevada. So, your admittance into Georgetown takes on a special significance, Jimmy. Cherish it always.

Whoa - if 1520 doesn't let you write your own ticket for college, what's the point? I can't believe I got into GU with an SAT score on the order of 200 points lower back in the day (and my grades weren't exemplary, either).
Guess they have to admit someone to finish last in the class - and I was happy to oblige!

Thanks again, everyone!
My SAT score wasn't as good as the person you interviewed, NevadaHoya, but I've got good grades in an intense academic envioronment and I've got some pretty unique activities so I assume they made up for it. Admittedly though, I also have more than a few family connections to the school...

more admissions perspective 30-40 people who got a 1600 on their SATs were denied this year. one kid i interviewed had 1570 and got denied, in part because of the poor review i gave him.

In all due respect...I already am a Hoya Fanatic. I mean, if I wasn't a fanatic, why would I be known around school as the kid with "The Hat"...my "famed" Goergetown hat I've worn pretty much every day I've attended the school. Last summer after I had lost my hat and came back with a different one for a few days, someone bought me a new G'town one as an early bday present because "things just didn't look right" Plus I've regularly been attending games for longer than probably half this board. However, no games will be as cool as the ones next year in the student section.

will "the hat" follow you to the hilltop? Of course. Someone suggested I work on a grad school hat, or use my old high school one...not gonna happen.
