This is what the BET Tuesday Quadrupleheader would have looked like this past season under the new format: noon: Nova vs. Cincinnati 2:30: UConn vs. Seton Hall 7:00: St. Johns vs. USF 9:30: Providence vs. Rutgers Ummmm...yeah...I'll pass. Wow. I wonder how the boys in Bristol feel about this. I would certainly think twice about televising Day One of the BET with that kind of slate. Definite "Ocho" material.

I'm all for this. Another day of Big East basketball is a good thing.
Imagine if this came out during the Esh years? Wonder if the reaction would have been different.

Who cares? When are we finishing outside the top eight?

Two years ago I wrote this exact format out and sent it to the commissioner, and he sent me a card with the BIG EAST logo on it and a nice hand written letter inside to acknowledge my efforts. Pretty neat that it will be a reality. The only difference is that my idea had the first day of the BET (9 v. 16; 10 v. 15 etc...) being played at Continental Arena and the rest of the BET at the Garden (I'd even say it would be good to have the first two days at this or another site---bringing the top four seeds and the quarters through the final where it belongs...MSG. I like it because I believe my favorite team is setting itself up for a top 4 seed annually anyway. HOYA SAXA...

They should keep the entire tourney in the MSG. Although Continental is close to NYC, you'd force teams to have to stay in East Rutherford and travel into the city due to traffic issues and logistics. Plus, you're not necessarily going to draw city alumni bases out to East Rutherford for the early round. You'd almost be better playing the play-in round a day or two earlier and having the stronger team host. Then, you'd have a travel day/prep day before the MSG component began.
I personally love this new format. Anything can happen in the BET, and adding an extra game offers more opportunities for craziness.

Ultimately, this simply results in us being able to see more, competitive Big East Games late in the season- a fact I can not argue with since I love Big East Basketball as all of you should.
Should be fun.
