Williams looks great and would love to get him. Stats are crazily efficient. Out of curiosity, does anyone know his backstory? Looks like he had a 2 year gap between high school and college and then was ineligible as a freshman?
Also makes me think he is likely to declare since he is already 23.

On the note of shooting, of all the guys we are bringing in (J. Harris, Beard, Sibley, Clark, D. Harris) is Dante Harris the only one we'd consider an above average shooter? Really worried if we go into another season without another reasonably good shooter. If Blair is our best shooter (and let's admit it he's average at best, really a volume shooter who can get hot, but also can get very cold), we become very easy to defend. It's even worse if you go back to last year. Of our last 11 recruits, the only one who could really list 3 point shooting as a strength is Harris. Before someone tries to claim Alexander, he shot 34.9% from 3 in JuCo. Guys like Beard, Sibley, and Clark don't sound totally hopeless as shooters, but the scouting reports seem to indicate it's an area of development for all of them.

I guess he is more or less a poor man's Terrell Allen, but I'd have much preferred someone who could shoot given how little 3 point shooting we have. Ideally fills the roll of a steady but unspectacular backup PG, although may need to do more for us depending on Beard and Harris. This is the kinda move that slightly raises our floor for next year, but probably doesn't do too much for our ceiling.
Not sure if this means anything for Collins, but still unclear (at least to me) if he plans to reclassify.

I get this in theory but in practice, what are they really going to tell him? You need to be a better distributor, shooter, and defender? Your best avenue to playing in the NBA would be at PG because of your size? That stuff isn't a closely guarded secret and I'm pretty dubious the process provides significant value for the guys who end up coming back - but of course, everyone who declares is hoping they don't have to come back. Business can be pretty fluid so yeah getting an up to date read on what a business is thinking in terms of short and long term needs can change often. That info isn’t exactly out there. This doesn't make much sense in the context of the NBA where there is a massive amount of public data on everyone they choose to sign and play. And our coach has 30 years of NBA experience and numerous NBA contacts. My point isn't that there can't possibly be value at all in the feedback players get - maybe there is some - but it is repeated as a trope every year even though I have never seen any concrete examples of how it helped someone. Maybe those examples are out there.

How valuable do people think the feedback you get as part of this process actually is? Is it really that hard to get similar feedback on what you need to improve without declaring? In theory, our coach should already be well-positioned to tell a player what they need to do to get to the NBA. My guess is that the only feedback Mac (or the vast majority of guys who do this) are really looking for is "yes, someone will draft you." It’s the difference between you career services staff telling you what you need to do to prepare to interview for job interviews and having a meeting with a front-office exec of a company who can tell you exactly what they’re hiring for at that point in time. I get this in theory but in practice, what are they really going to tell him? You need to be a better distributor, shooter, and defender? Not sure where to put this, but Ashanti Cook was on Better Call Saul this week - even had a line (playing a lawyer).

I likely just missed him, but was Ighoefe dressed? I didn't see him warming up at halftime.

For the people calling for a quick 2 - play out the percentages of us making a 3 to send the game to overtime vs making a 2, and then likely needing to make either a 2 or 3 on the next possession to send it to overtime. You'll be surprised.
The internet tends to love the idea of quick 2s because people seem to think it's virtually a lock you will score - but it most certainly isn't. Often you'll miss the two or take too long to get it off, especially in the college game.

After passing the ball on the final possession, Derrickson ran a loop back out towards the three point line, while Cameron screened. Looked like he would have gotten an open three and LJ was looking for him...but MD then inexplicably stopped just inside the three point line and cut back inside.
No idea what he was doing but it appeared to ruin the entire play.

All this kid wanted to do was drink, party and put absolutely no work in on the basketball court. Classic example of a kid with loads of talent expecting everything to be given to him. Smh cope.. hope you enjoy the club scene in Lincoln, NE. Where is this coming from?

If this kid was 6'2" IMO he'd be pushing 5 star status. At the least a solid 4 star top 100 kid. Can't teach a lot of what he does. I'm on board!!! I don't even want to think about how dominant Roy would have been on defense if he was 7'10"

People are complaining about lineups, but I'm not sure a good substitution pattern exists when 7/9 guys in the rotation play at a level that ranges from bad to "might as well be intentionally throwing the game."

I could live with Bracey's height but from what I've seen here he isn't a particularly good shooter either, and that isn't a great combo. Also doesn't seem like he'd pair that well with Mosely who needs to improve his shooting as well.

Is Arcidiacono the best defender in the country or something? I was shocked he was first team all Big East (seemed like even second would have been a stretch) and the player of the year award is just absurdly confusing.

My thoughts on the likely rotation after watching far too many Kenner League games:
Starters:
DSR (lock) Trawick (lock) Copeland White Smith (lock if he is around)
Rotation guys:
Peak (could easily start and will likely play as much/more as Copeland/White) Hopkins (wouldn't be surprised if he starts early on although I hope he doesn't) Bowen (may drop minutes as the year goes on)
Spot minutes:
Campbell (Peak's ball-handling may limit the need for Tre, who likely isn't ready to be a big contributor yet) Hayes (can hopefully approximate Moses's role in 2012-2013)
I'd love to have a knock-down shooter in the rotation but Cameron looks like he is behind the freshman and Bowen. Trey is going to need a few years before he will be an option for even spot minutes.

Does anyone know for sure what the right schedule is today? The article on GUHoyas and the .pdf are different.

Is Josh supposed to be out of town for the entire summer? That would be a little strange given his academic issues.
