There was two. There was also significant sharp betting on the game which piqued my interest but I needed to see it to believe it. I saw what was going on in the fist half and pounced. The game was fixed but the streak is over. Celebrate away. I hope the players realize the game was fixed, guys like Akok and Riley should get no satisfaction from this...good point... If you go back and look at hoyainla's posts the last few years, any time Georgetown plays well for a stretch in a game, he starts talking about how we are getting all of the whistles. Every time. The first time I remember it, I think it was after a win (before the losing streak) and he was ranting and raving about how lucky we were getting all of the calls. I distinctly remember thinking there is no way this guy is a fan. No actual fan has that reaction. Its no wonder that after actually getting a win tonight, it is not just a favorable whistle, but rather the game was actually fixed. He seems to know basketball and I enjoy his posts from time to time, but at the same time he is the weirdest type of troll or maybe is just confused as to what message board he should be on.

Two double doubles today: Primo and Akok. I guess we are grasping at straws for some highlights. Akok is pretty much the sole highlight on the year. Great player.

Nice Primo dish to open Akok for a 3. Primo shot has run its course this game and hitting others who can score and are open is good to see. None of that matters the way we play defense.

Our only chance to win a game like this (as infinitesimal as it is under any circumstances) is to take care of the ball and eliminate completely unforced / careless turnovers. Yet we turn it over like that every other possession.

To that end, I wish JDG would just come out and publicly say that GU will honor Ewing's contract. Call his bluff. Let him burn on a pyre of his own making for as long a he chooses. Frankly, I am not sure that he would even be able to field a team next year, but if he could I would watch and relish in his incompetence. Let this clown continue to embarrass himself in front of the basketball world, all while telling himself that he never got an NBA job because of some nefarious forces. Let him yell "Move!" and "Rebound!" into the void of an empty arena where nobody even cares enough to show up and boo him. I am old enough that a few years will pass by quickly enough. I cannot stomach paying him for a job he never deserved and at which he completely failed. Georgetown has to honor its contractual obligations. I am not sure what saying that in public would do. It's pretty simple. If Ewing resigns or quits, he gets no money, if he gets fired he gets $12 million. I would argue that Ewing has already tarnished his legacy, in the longer scheme of things, so given those circumstances, why not collect the money? I am not defending Ewing's performance in any way, but I think asking him to walk away from that money makes no sense. I, too, am angry that Georgetown gave Ewing the extension that will require Georgetown to pay him out for several years, particularly when the extension was entirely unwarranted. But your anger for that should be directed at DeGioia and he Board, not Ewing. I am curious -- does anyone know for a fact or have any evidence that the Board is actually involved in any of this (i.e., hiring, extension, possible firing, etc.) at all? I am not asking whether they should be involved or whether its not a complete embarassment / malpractice if they are not - but rather whether any of us actually know that some or all of the Board members are involved in these discussions/ decisions at all?

Ezewiro might have the worst defensive awareness of any one on the team. An unfathomable accomplishment I agree. And still would much rather he be on the court than Q.

I have nothing to say, just making sure the Board is still working. Is it? Seems so but i think it went over 10 hours without a single post. I cant remember that ever happening.

Was otherwise occupied last night, so didn't watch the game. Thinking about checking it out on DVR, but might just skip it, sounds like more of the same. Surprisingly good crowd though, at least what was announced - attendance of 6,140. Skip it. It’s the same thing over and over. The attendance number is a joke. From the tv shots you could see that the student sections were empty. I was there last night and I suspect just over 6k was about exactly right. I understand its all relative, and it still feels pathetic and depressing in a 20k seat arena, but I was surprised how many people were there last night under the circumstances. There seemed to be lots of big kids groups / teams, so I suspect there were a lot of giveaways.

[li]Doubling the post: This one drives me bananas. Last year we would dig down one pass away, which was equally frustrating as it was a simple kick out to nearest shooter. This year, we're sending the double from the opposite corner. It just doesnt work. The big isn't forcing the post player to the baseline so it's not serving as a trap. It's super easy to pass it out and now we're in rotation scramble mode. I know Primo got beat up on a Nationwide Nolan video for being slow on a closeout to the corner. But the scheme is ridiculous, basically run over to the post, and before you even get there you're running back exactly where you were. Why play a center in today's game if you need to double the post defensively? When we're playing Sanogo, fine. Jackson Stormo? GTFO [/li][/ul]
[/quote] I agree wholeheartedly with all of the comments about the quality of your posts. I highlighted one point from your post above because, despite my knowing one-billionth of what you do about actual basketball strategy, I also noticed that we are doing that at times this year. Nearly every time we do it it results in a 3 attempt more wide open than usual. So we employ a completely unnecessary defensive tactic that simply exacerbates what we are already worst at.

I stand by my original statement. Hoyaboya predicted we would go undefeated in OOC so there is that... It's obvious his intent, portray the OOC as being awful (which he doesn't need to continue to state because we all can recognize it's awful)... Then if the team had done well it was because of the schedule and if the team does poorly Ewing is a mess that can't win against an awful schedule... What I don't get is why go through with all that effort...Ewing is awful is it statistically a fact...everyone on the board w/the exception of 3 people can see that, it's painfully obvious...we don't need the charade from anyone on here that predicting their going to win with the hope they don't...if the fear is Ewing beats Sienna and Cuse all of a sudden the entire board sees him as a good coach, trust me they won't. It's not the posters on this board that need to realize any of this it's the GU athletic administration to come to their senses... For the record, I pointed this out a week ago!

TC this is Boya's pattern. If you don't pay attention you'll miss it but he will say things to make it look worse if they don't come true. He'll talk about Flowers being a GTown lock so when he goes to WVU it appears that Ewing lost the kid. Or in this case even the terrible Ewing will get 5Ws in this BE but no one watching thanks this GTown team is winning 5 gms. I see maybe 2. Butler and DePaul.....Boya just wants to make sure that no one screams progress after 3Ws 🤷🏾♂️ If they get three wins, you’ll be back on the Ewing is an ok to good coach train. Right on cue - this is their other tactic. If you don't take a public blowtorch to everything associated with the program (players included) or dare to question their posting approach, you are a "Thompson/Ewing guy".

As tempting as it is to vilify the small contingent of posters who hurled insults at those who properly recognized where the fault lies for the Hoyas' demise, I'd rather have them come on board to petition the admin for change. BigSky - this was a beautifully crafted sentence. Just perfect. I loved reading it a few times over [and to be clear - being dead serious]. Well done.

I think we get at least 5 wins in the conference. The Big East is very down - I think there are really only 2-3 good teams (Creighton, UCONN, maybe Xavier). It won’t mean we’re better than last year, it will just mean the conference is worse. I would push a fairly large set of chips on the table for the under on that He doesnt mean it (the 5 wins). Its just part of his setup. Each team we are about to play is the worst team that ever played basketball in the history of the game. The Big East is very down. That way he can dramatize even more the magnitude of our failures. I'm not sure that strategy is really necessary anymore! But I'm always surprised people fall for it.

Great turnout for the Creighton fans in Maui. I don't know what the ticket sales for Jamaica were, but the TV cameras never showed more than two or three Georgetown fans in any one shot. I know JohnnyJones' wife thought there was at least one too many Hoya fans in Jamaica.

It was my understanding that the players who transferred here did so because they wanted to be part of bringing the GU program back to prominence. But after watching Spears, Murray and Heath I get the distinct impression that they really transferred because they wanted a greater opportunity to showcase their "talent". And it appears Patrick is okay with that. As has already been pointed out on this Board, no way a good HC would have kept those three on the court in the second half yesterday. Classic playground basketball. There's one reason Murray came here and it wasn't to bring Georgetown back to its former glory. Instead of continuing to say this, why don’t you state what you know to be fact? I know that saying it this way inflicts to most pain and suffering on everyone involved (including fans who care about the program), and that of course is the sole objective of each and every one of your posts, but if you know something, why dont you just say it?

I don't know if it has already been said but Georgetown had 4 starters play 40+mins and Bristol played 29mins. This has to be factored into your analysis. I haven't read the Heath thread yet but having him to really spell Primo changes the outcome of the Coppin State game. For comparison Charlotte had 1 player play over 30mins🤷🏾♂️ Yea I mentioned that in my commentary in the game thread and this was a response into more specific points made by the original poster. That being said, if you’re going to play 6 guys, maybe…don’t press full court? Or stop when you realize the game is going to be tight and you’re shortening the rotation so the guys can give the necessary effort on defense. I consider myself a moderate on this board, I don’t bash Ewing at every available opportunity. It’s ok to say the defense was bad on Tuesday without trying to come up with every caveat to couch it. I hope the fox sports app comes through today and we can all watch a better defensive performance rhw - please post more. A lot more.

I’ve got to say, with all of the coaching discussions over the last two months, the 20-years-later pro-Esherick faction is the twist I never saw coming. I'm not pro Esherick I'm just pointing out that he was removed because JTIII was in line for a bigger job, not because of performance. The Thompsons run this program. This is so idiotic and statements like this really hurt the credibility of what I suspect is the majority of longtime fans who are ready to move in a completely new direction but feel sick it has come to that.

I agree that Ewing's situation is different than that of his assistants. If there are staff changes, it is hard for me to evaluate, as I do not have information about their job performance. I do not want to see them blamed in any sort of statements. Here's some key information for you: 0-19

I won’t make it due to work and family commitments. This crew will - not a shock to see where the wine bottle is. “Work and family commitments”?? Terrible job Dr Dan. You seem to have forgotten what the great JohnnyJones said to his wife (with an infant in each arm) as he walked out the door in March 2006… “The Big East Tournament is non-negotiable!”
