I got a bit of criticism for saying he wouldn’t be drafted and that in purely basketball terms he should have stayed in school. Although I will stipulate that I don’t know his personal financial or educational status

Duke’s coach was a white man who sucked up to the press. Georgetown had a coach who was black and didn’t kiss Feinstein’s ass. Explains it all. I suggest you do some reading about racism in America. And I am a 67year old man who is about as white as you can get.

The minutes will be determined by who steps up and who doesn’t. What strikes me is that this squad has a great deal more athletic ability, skill, mobility, and interoperability than we have had in some time. We have players at all positions who can shoot the 3 with a good percentage. We have quick players who can defend, pass, and score through challenges at the rack. We have depth at every position but 5 but even there we have solid potential to “go small”. And we will be able to play the up tempo NBA game that Coach envisions. The future is bright, and the future is blue and gray

PE has shown that he just cares about basketball players. I am fine with that. Thompson made some social commentary with his actions back in the day. I am fine with that too. coach Ewing is making it clear that he measures talent and desire no mater where it comes from or what the outside of the package looks like

The kid should not hire an agent. Do the draft review stuff and find out you aren’t getting drafted and why. The reality is he is not getting drafted this year but could sneak in next year. The need in the NBA for a 6 foot 7 inch stretch 4 who has poor lateral movement and below average hops is nonexistent. He would not be an offensive threat and would be a defensive liability. The players in that league are big, fast, athletic and skilled. Marcus is skilled but deficient in the other areas. So if he stays a pro he gets to play somewhere in Europe as he really won’t be an ideal G league guy. Or he could finish school and have the same fate next year. Harsh but true. A very good college player but that maybe it.

Congratulations to the young man and to Coach Ewing. I haven’t seen the kid play except for videos but will take the word of those who have. This is excellent news for the Hoya program. Now when the NBA sends Jesse back with instructions to get stronger, work on his shot, and on lateral movement we could have a fun team to follow

Ok standard caveat that I don’t know what his family or financial issues are, but this is a very poor decision. The kid will not get drafted and as has been pointed out his defensive issues mean that teams won’t be lining up to put him in the G League. I wish him luck but anotheryear would have helped him. But this is really bad news for the Hoyasfor next year. Nobody we have or could add will be a plus at the 4 over him.

Not going to reach a conclusion but UConn was involved with NCAA sanctions yet the kid committed there. Now considering Arizona where we have been informed that the Coach and program were involved in money from shoe companies. Seems to be a common thread here

I am shocked that Duke and Coach K are involved with a player, or players, who are receiving substantial payments to attend schools and play in games from shoe manufacturers. :-)

Pickett and Blair missed every shot. With anyone who could regularly knock down a 3 and a bit of guard play Georgetown could be very good. We have none of that all year.

This one I blame on Coach. St John’s can’t shoot. We should have gone zone 4 minutes into the second half. But nobody other than Jesse, Marcus, and Walker showed up

One thought. Next year it won’t be Trey using an open lane to drive and not score or get fouled. McClung makes that play and it’s a dunk and one. We always knew this was going to be a transition year. I am still happy with how well we have started playing.

Shot better than them. But no rebounding and too many turnovers. And then some poor shot decisions. Tough loss to #4. Story of our losses all BE season. Why we didn’t we run more stuff for Pickett?
