Gardner is a forward. So is Pickett.

Pretty disrespectful if you ask me Based on what? We weren't good last year. We haven't earned respect.

Not buying Villanova as a top 10 team.

Providence finished 20 spots ahead of Georgetown last year in Kenpom. I wouldn't put any stock in conference standings when not much separated 3rd from last.
I think both teams enter this season on similar footing. Providence has more answers, Hoyas have a little more ceiling.

It's difficult for me to believe that Marcus doesn't fill a need for many teams. I know that there's, arguably, more "talent" in the League than ever before. But there's also less polish. Marcus isn't the most gifted player but what he does do, he does well enough to come off of the bench for several teams. I'm really hoping some GM sees his value and scoops him up. They won't be sorry that they did. What does he offer an NBA team? What polish do you speak of? I don't really see an NBA skillset.

Great to see alotta home-grown recruits we missed out on in the past play at Kenner...this bodes well for the future of recruiting in DMV that the Kenner Brand is strong. What does this mean? I don't follow.

All of those guys faced the basket mostly. Mourning had no business playing the 4.
I forgot Blair, yeah he's a 2. Kelan Martin is what I hope Gardner can become.

The only real 2 we have on the roster is McClung. 4 men do not post up anymore. His coach says he's a combo forward. He's right.

Gardner is not a 2 in any way, Pickett was never a 2 either.

He's not an NBA player. He doesn't do the things teams need from the 5 position.

We have people here who don't understand there are levels in college basketball and think every kid that is recruited by us can play at this level. He didn't show much here, and would have played more if he showed more in practice. His videos in high school showed limited athleticism.
Don't compare him to Marcus who was an undersized beast in a great league.
I know players get 4 years to develop for a reason, but coaches know what a kid has and what he might be and prioritize their development. It took dire circumstances for Carter to see the court and it's not like we were loaded in the frontcourt.

He never looked like a high major prospect to me. His tape was very underwhelming. I think he will have success at the lower level.

It’s a crutch for broadcasters. Can’t say much about the recent status of the program so we’ll talk up what happened 30 years. Which explains why we are viewed as a has been. Goodman is right in that this HC job should be a top 20 job; it isn’t. But Pat can certainly get us back there. This is correct.

Next year's freshman class with Wahab, Gardner, Wilson, IGI has probably more talent than Villanova. Myron Gardner may be one of top 5 best small forwards in the nation. I think he's an absolute beast and is going to seriously beat down Hoya opponents. Mac, James and Josh are a year more experienced, Yurt comes from NCState with impressive stats. You've got Terrell Owen. This team can play with any other team in the nation. I have to call this post out. It's so ridiculous, it has to be a troll trying to make Hoya fans look bad.

We really have not been in on the top locals for years. Walker was not highly recruited. I am talking about the top recruits in the DMV. We have no shot at Timberlake. Extending offers is not the same thing as recruiting a kid. Every 5 star kid will get an offer from Georgetown. Getting 5*kids will not start into '22 if things go well. Unless they just love GTown or Pat....kids like Timberlake and Roach have dreamed of playing for X blueblood team probably since 5th or 6th grade....now its time to choose a school and GTown has done nothing to make thing think c'ship (BE or National)....my 10th grade son ('21)looks at GTown and thinks "they're Ok"....we need the classes of '21/'22 to think "they're good" by the end of next year....if we want to pull 5* kids in those classes.... If you staff well you can make an instant impact with local recruiting. The next opening on the staff really needs to be a local guy with great connections.

Not sure where to put this, but Kenny Johnson is likely replacing Broadus at UMD. Broadus was a really good recruiter for them, and they end up hiring someone even better. Ugh. I guess it's not really going to impact the Hoyas if we aren't really going to bother with local recruits.
