It depends on whether you consider it a transfer when your school cancels its season and you never play for them...

Completely insane decision with Walker, who never played at Central and transferred only after they cancelled their season due to Covid when everyone else was playing.

That is one very skeptical way to view it.

There are pros and cons to every scenario. It seems clear that there will be some challenges this year while Cooley is rebuilding for 2024-2025 and beyond. He deserves ample support and patience.

Wait, rebuilding takes work, and time?

As few foul outs as possible.

There is talent out there. My favorite Hoya of all time was told that he would have a role on defense and that likely would be it. He went on to be Big East Player of the Year. I think there is a preferred walk on who can give us five fouls and get us a few boards. Loved Smitty but times are so different now. If such a "big" man exists out there who's under the radar, I'd be surprised. I'd take another Don Reid type player. After GU, not many thought he'd stick in the League but he did. Or another Jahidi White for that matter. Agreed that times are different (and MUCH worse, unfortunately), but I still think there is a player out there somewhere who can help. Not to be another Charles Smith, or Don Reid, both of whom went on to the NBA. As to Jahidi White, he was an All-American in HS who also went on to a good career in the NBA. We need a shadow of those guys. Just someone big and strong who can and will bang a bit would help a lot. I am not saying it is easy, but there is someone like that available, somewhere.

If this team in Cooleys 1st year coming off the prior 2 ends up in the top 80 Cooley should be COY. That seems like a major reach to me. But we can dream. Top 100 would be a great result. Anywhere in the vicinity of eighty would be miracle work.

It is also great to hear about Heath taking his education seriously. Good stuff.

Moving on: PG: Epps (20) Brumbaugh (20) SG: Heath (28) Epps (12) SF Styles (25) Bristol (15) PF: Massoud (25) Fielder (15) C: Cook (25) Mutombo (10) Fielder (5) McKenna is gonna play With a lineup like that, we need to slash and draw fouls. We are not deep and foul trouble will be an issue for us- but less so if the other teams are in foul trouble. McKenna is a wild card, but he has talent and I expect him to get a chance to play. I do not think he reclassified and committed early to sit. Plus, his shooting ability is something the Hoyas need.

That is not ideal, but we can and will run with it if necessary. Guys need to man up and take care of their bodies. I fully expect McKenna to be part of the team and to play, but Sorber should not reclassify unless that truly is the right thing for him.

Dayton would be a pretty solid choice if things proceed in the manner that many think is inevitable. I am less convinced that anyone really knows what is going to happen, but the Big East should keep an open mind as well as a list of perhaps twenty schools that do not have major football and might fit with the conference.
Pitt will end up in a football conference in that scenario, IMHO. SUcks and You Con are more up on the air. SLU at least has a decent program and would tie in a major market. Let's enjoy each season as much as possible and see what plays out.

The most rebounds anyone had was 7, and Williams had 5 despite being limited by foul trouble. He is going to be a solid piece by all indications.

Boubacar Aw is my second-favorite Hoya after Charles Smith. Great defensive player and seems like a great guy. I believe he is still coaching women's high school hoops near Wilmington.
