"We need to figure out the 1-3-1". We always had trouble figuring it out when Beilein's WV teams would throw it at us, Xavier destroyed us 3 times last year with it (save a 10-minute stretch in the second half of the BET game when everything we threw up was going in), last year's crappy Marquette team even gave us fits with it. I don't get a sense that we'll somehow crack the code tomorrow. I'm shocked that more teams don't play it against us. On another note, I kinda liked it when we mixed it up with the 131 against nova. Kaleb is the ideal player to have on the top. I feel we should trial it more, I mean we more length/height than any other BE team.

Gonzaga @ St Johns (Top 2 Teams in D.C) Chris Lykes vs. Anthony Cowan (Maryland commit 2016) Chris Lykes is virtually ungaurdable. He Played most of the game in heavy foul trouble and with St. John's keying on him went off for 28 points with 5 points coming in the last 15 seconds of regulation including racing up the court for deep pull up 3 pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. St. John's would go on to win in overtime 75-72. Back to Lykes, the kid is ridiculous. He stroke the deep ball, has a ridiculous handle, can score in a variety of ways (get to the cup, floater, pull up and from deep) and finishes through contact in ridiculous fashion. Lykes had a ridiculous hesitation dribble move during OT that was nullified by a bogus carrying call. IMO, Lykes is the 2nd best PG in the 2017 class behind Trevon Duval who is the best PG in high school regardless of class. If Lykes was 6'0" tall he would be top 10 in the country. Lykes may never play a day in the NBA but that doesn't mean he won't be an outstanding college player. He reminds me of a smaller Kemba Walker but with better court vision. This kid plays with a competitive fire, determination and love of the game that I wouldn't be totally surprised if he was to have a long career in the Association. I'M ALL IN FOR CHRIS LYKES!!!
Brought to you by the Chris Lykes to Georgetown Coalition!
The offense was great in the video above, but did anyone take a look at his D? More than a couple times he let his man go right by him for an easy bucket. I'm not sure if that was due to foul trouble related to that game or that is his baseline. This current Hoya team needs defense more than anything, we already have guys that can fill it up.

Apparently boxing out your man is a foul. Jesus refs.

Paul's been the best player on the court in my opinion, and not really close. Only one moving the ball. What a shock. Everyone on this board knew he needs more playing time and the only one that didn't see it until now is the coach. To be fair, we have no idea if Paul white was even playable on Tuesday. There are some coaching decisions that warrant criticism, this is not one of them.

I was just watching some of the video from the Monmouth/Notre Dame game and let me just say that this Justin Robinson guy plays SUPER annoying. Literally flops anytime he gets scraped and the refs always call it since he's so much smaller than everyone else. I'm not entirely sure their team can do anything besides shoot the three and force free throws... Agreed. That game he didn't shoot the ball well and made his impact getting into the lane and drawing fouls. If we let them, monmouth will destroy us in transition. They finish well. Wasn't entirely impressed with their half court offense (outside of robinson). Stewart is money from 3 and Seaborn is a fairly good penetrator.

Could maybe our relationship with Wall get a recruit here?? If the kid wants to stay near Wall in DC and Wall during the summer is at Georgetown a good bit this may be our 1st reward. Georgetown and John Wall have a relationship?

Of course, you have seen someone drop 28 in a second half. Pre-diabetes AF was the best.

Uthoff from iowa was unconscious in the first half. Can't remember if I've ever seen someone drop 30 in the first half.

Maryland vs. UConn. Dickie V. asks how Diamond Stone was allowed to leave Wisconsin, given Marquette and Bo Ryan and Wisconsin being in-state. John Saunders scoffs at the notion that Marquette could ever get a player like that. Stay classy, ESPN. Lay any more folks off today? If stone had the grades, he'd be at wisco. Yeah, Marquette can't conceivably recruit top 10 talent.. Henry Ellenson ring a bell?
